This location has been our favourite go to place for delicious pho as well as truly tasty vegetarian dishes, a whole page of more than ten options! I love Vietnamese food but as a non meat eater my choices are usually limited. This place has plenty to choose from and I don’t feel like I’m missing our flavour wise, which is often the case with veg options. They have the best deep fried tofu spring rolls that are just as hearty as the meat filled. Do be aware that there is a high chance of cross contamination (it’s on their menu) so if you have allergies (especially peanut) or are a strict vegan, this is not a good place for you to eat. I’ve been told by my omnivorous dining partners that their meat based dishes are amazing as well and the pho is super flavourful. The price point is definitely reasonable and the portions are large so you get your money’s worth. We usually end up eating here more than four times a month and I usually have to bring half my meal home because it’s a large portion.
The wait staff varies in terms of friendliness and efficiency. Some days we have great servers and others days we’ve had some rudeness or waiting a while for any dish that isn’t pho. For a few months it did downhill but it’s picked up again and I haven’t seen any of those rude servers so maybe they’re gone. Some people have complained about the service being unfriendly but I feel it’s because they don’t fall all over themselves trying to hold your hand and liven your day. They take your order, bring the food out hot and leave you alone to eat and I am fine with that. I don’t need anyone pretending to be my friend to call it good service. The atmosphere is quiet since there is no music but I prefer that personally. It’s a very bare bones sitting arrangement so don’t expect anything opulent or cozy. The owner is friendly in a very brusque sort of way, swift with service and I...
Read moreDefinitely not recommended. I had to give one star because that was the lowest rating I could give. There is another pho place nearby - the one with the highest rating in the area - that is so much better than this place. DO NOT EVEN BOTHER COMING HERE. Their small size portion for pho is literally 3 bites - approximately or less than half of the small size in the other place I mention above. The large size is not much different from the small size. I can say with confidence that the only differences between sizes are the bowl size and the amount of soup. The portion (noodle) of this place's large size is probably a third of the large size of that other restaurant. I also believe this is a frequent issue with other customers since I have read Google map reviews who share the same opinion. The meat in the soup smells and looks like they just took out frozen meats out of the freezer right before putting in the soup. They didn't even bother straightening out the meat pieces - it was all folded together into a lump. If you really insist trying this place out, DO NOT order pho with rare beef. The soup is not hot. It's warm. So, you cannot get enough heat to cook the meat. My meat pieces that were all folded into a lump and were separated by me did not get cooked enough to be safe to be eaten until the end of my meal. I left all the meat behind because I could not trust it. I went to this place for dinner, spent nearly 40 dollars, and left still hungry and disgusted. I had to cook again when I got home to actually have a meal and erase the taste...
Read moreI've been coming to this place since it opened years ago. It was my go-to place for pho. I regularly ordered their pho, fried chicken wings, and crispy tofu skin. My kids love their grilled chicken and rice. Recently (last 2-3 months), I noticed that their wait staff changed. On my last visit on July 17, my family and I had the misfortune of being poorly served by a rude and sullen male staff. On this visit, we weren't served any tea. When I asked about it, he barked at us that they didn't have any. When I asked for clarification if they no longer served tea for free, or if they ran out of tea, he answered back with "No tea. If you want tea, come back tomorrow." I let that go since we just wanted our dinner. When he served the food, I asked 2 pairs spoons and forks because my kids can't use chopsticks. He glared at me for this request and retorted "You need 2 sets?!" I explained that I needed one set for each of my kids. When my food came, I realized I needed another set for myself. I approached him near the counter and asked for another pair of utensils. In an irate tone, he tells me "I already gave you utensils. You want another one?" I was shocked. I don't understand what the fuss was about utensils. Did he have to wash them himself? As for the food, I would say that the food quality has declined over my last few visits. It's like the kitchen staff changed or they changed their recipe. I'm giving this place two stars because of this experience with their wait staff and the declining...
