Decided to come here for dinner after I was here for a family gathering 2 months ago. Craved the side of butter that was given with the rolls while waiting for the mains. Have to say, this entire week, i was really looking forward to eating here and in the end i was a bit disappointed. 😔 It wasn't too busy and yet it took quite some time to be served. Ordered the filet mignon, with an add on of a baked potato (extra $) , and it was very salty. The baked potato seemed to be cold even though it was to have cheese and bacon melted on top. It seemed a bit hard as though it was sitting around for a bit of time. On some parts of the potato I wondered if it was cooked at all. My friend had the butternut squash ravioli and it was very tasty and wasn't lacking, as each ravioli was filled well. The best part of my meal was my Caesar salad. The house made dressing was delicious!! I'd definitely order again. We received our meals and literally after taking one bite we were asked how everything was, of course it was fine. However as I mentioned earlier.. the more I cut into my steak the saltier I realized it to be. We sat there eating for another 30 minutes and not one person looked our way when we tried to get someone's attention to let them know how it really was. (I only told the waitress about the steak after we had asked for a container to take leftovers home.) My friend basically said "I feel as though they've forgotten about us". Overall... food was good...would eat again but probably would try something else. The service needs to improve. Too many waitstaff walked past our table without checking in...even something as simple as a glance over or eye contact would have been nice.

We have been dining at Cagney’s for forever. It’s our treat every now and then. Good food and great ambiance, servers are friendly and service is good. We had the caprese salad to start. Salad is ahmaizinggggggg!! One of my favourite in Toronto. The cheese is nice and cold and the dressing is a balance of sweet from the balsamic glaze and salty from the pesto and olive oil. Love the dish. The temperature of the salad is also perfect making it fresh and tasty. One thing that could be improved is the tomatoes; it’s different than those Roma tomatoes from Europe that is less acidic and on the juicy sweeter side. We had the NY steak and salmon for our entree. They cook the steak to a perfect medium rare. Plates came our warm and steak is juicy and rested well. We ordered the steak with a side sautéed mushroom which was also very good. The salmon however was my favourite entree. salmon is cooked to perfection (medium well) flaky and has no fishy smell. The sauce they put on the salmon is a rosé sauce with tiny shrimps on them. The dish came with a gigantic amount of mashed potatoes, and grilled veggies. Both side dishes was fine. We ended the dinner with warm lava cake served with vanilla ice cream. This dish was just ok but it quickly became cold. The other dessert was their cheesecake topped with cherry and berry reduction. This is a staple for us and we’ve been having this dessert for a long time now. It’s a cold cheesecake and not those baked ones. The based is a nice crust that could be a cookie (thick but good and crumbly) the cheesecake part is gooey and soft and balanced with a nice sweet sour compote! Fav 😘

We originally were excited to go for dinner last night (Nov 9,2024) and based on the reviews were looking forward to a great experience. Lets start with the atmosphere, the live singer was fine at first, until later in the evening he encouraged people to dance (...there is no dance floor or space to dance as the space is extremely compact), then encouraged the 17 year olds having a birthday party to start singing....17 year olds belting out the song dancing queen was far from a good atmosphere.

The food- the mussels and French onion soup were mediocre, nothing special. The Octopus was well liked by the one member of our party. The wait for the mains was absolutely ridiculous, with the recent menu change it was clear there was a lot of disorganization. One person at our table ordered the fish of the day...when the meals should have been coming out the manager came over with the server to let him know that they had told us the wrong fish of the day and it was a different fish (this should have been told to us within a few minutes of placing our main entree orders). We were encouraged to place our main entree orders shortly after our apps, as they were busy which was fine but the timing just didn't add up. We were seated at 8:05 and did not get our mains till after 9:20. I had ordered the veal and was looking forwarded to it. The tomato sauce on the veal was very acidic and tastes as if it was straight from a can, the cheese on the veal could not save it. The pasta on the side was less then par and I ended up sending the whole dish back after about 4 bites as it left such a bad taste in my mouth. The server offered us a complimentary drink but at that point were were done. The one at person who ordered the fish couldn't finish it , the plate as a whole was lacking flavour and some of the vegetables on the side weren't cooked and the broccoli was cold and chewy. Another individual at our table ordered the steak (which was made well he said), but the béarnaise sauce tasted like it was from a jar or a can. The butter for the lobster tail arrived 30 minutes before the lobster, the candle to keep the butter "warm" went out before the lobster got to the table. The lobster tail he had ordered with it was not worth ordering as he could have made it at home. The other gentle ordered shrimp with his steak and they were cold. The meal as a whole was extremely disappointing.

The server clearly had too many tables to work and he did try hard. The restaurant though did not set the servers up for success by booking three large parties at the same time, as it left the restaurant very cramped and slammed the kitchen. We also felt that the three huge sparklers used for the birthday cake was unsafe as the space overcrowded.

Hopefully the restaurant can work out a better system to ensure their servers are set up for success, and not over book to prevent slamming the kitchen and creating a claustrophobic...

If I could give less than one star I would have. The only saving grace was the sweet and bubbly waitress that tried to make up for the poor food and service from other members of the staff. To start, the hostess had an impeccably rude attitude when asked whether we could be seated in the regular dining area instead of the bar. She proceeded to explain that our reservation specified high top; however, that request was never made on my end, and I conveyed the same to her. When she finally offered to move us to the dining room we declined, as we were made to feel as though we had made such an inconvenient request.

These high tops are extremely uncomfortable. There is not enough room for one to place both their coat and their purse. If there was a coat check, we were never offered one. These tables were not large enough for the platter that we ordered and we were asked if we’d be okay with smaller plates. I eventually asked to be moved to a booth, which was also met with hesitation even though this part of the restaurant was not at all busy.

When our platter came, not only were the steaks cooked improperly, but one of our side dishes was missing. The steaks were ordered medium, and both were cooked well done, dry, and chewy. The fries that came late arrived extra greasy and raw on the inside. Even a fast food restaurant has more enjoyable French fries. Nothing was appetizing, except for the rack of lamb.

At this point I knew the manager was made aware that we were not happy. You would think that he would have come on his own to check on our table but instead he walked past our table multiple times and went to others to ask how they were enjoying their meals, including the one immediately next to ours. It wasn’t until our bill was fully paid that he approached to ask what our grievances were.

Another smaller issue is that their open table menu prices do not reflect their actual prices. The discrepancy is approximately $10-$50 depending on the item.

In any event, although I had high hopes for what appears to be a Mississauga hidden gem, we won’t be back as it was both a waste of time and money. This place doesn’t deserve to have “steakhouse” in their name if that’s their...

Don’t go here if you have children, It is not a family restaurant. We went for a family dinner and I brought my two year-old daughter. They did have two options for kids to eat, which was plain pasta or chicken fingers and fries l, but when I went to take her to the washroom to change her diaper, there was no change table. After addressing it with the manager, his demeanour was extremely arrogant, making me feel like it was my problem that there was no change table in the bathroom as he listed other restaurants that didn’t have change tables instead of taking ownership for the situation. I ended up changing her on the bathroom sink where there was no place for her to go as she cried the whole time. After spending over $500 on dinner, it was extremely offputting to not have a safe clean space to change my child. The sad part is the managers reaction to this situation. He approached us very hostile and told me that I was complaining to the wrong person because the owners are the ones that make those decisions and his hands were tied. The renovations in this restaurant are extravagant and to not prioritize families, especially when you offer kids meals is horrible service. The food was expensive and the portions were small, but honestly, if it wasn’t for the change table situation, I would not have left a bad review about the food. I have worked in the hospitality industry for years, and I have never encountered this amount of disrespect and disregard for a mother that just wanted a place to change her baby. I’m honestly disgusted

In response to your response:

I have plenty of 5 star reviews because I give credit to where credit is due. Your excuse that the change table is not feasible is a joke because you are an upscale restaurant with a budget for design but not for basic human needs. My complaint is valid and my behaviour was nothing like you described. Take ownership for your managers poor response to a complaint that you were not there to witness. This response just proves your horrible customer service and makes you look even worse. Good luck with...
