A Must-Try for Authentic Telugu Food in the Heart of Toronto
If you're craving the rich flavors of authentic Telugu cuisine in the bustling city of Toronto, look no further than Charminar Cuisine in Mississauga. This hidden gem promises a delightful culinary journey, and my recent visit left me thoroughly impressed.
From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with warm smiles and a cozy ambiance that transported us straight to the heart of Telangana. The menu at Charminar Cuisine boasts a wide array of traditional dishes, and we couldn't resist starting with the highly recommended Lamb Roast. It was an absolute delight! The succulent lamb was perfectly cooked, tender, and simply melted in our mouths. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, leaving us wanting more.
For appetizers, we ordered the Guntur Chicken, and it lived up to its name. Spicy, crunchy, and packed with nostalgia-inducing flavors, it was a treat for the senses. The balance of spices and the robust taste of the chicken made it a memorable start to our meal.
The lunch special Biryani Combo stole the show. The fragrant aroma of the biryani filled the air as it arrived at our table, and we knew we were in for something special. The combination of aromatic basmati rice, tender meat, and a harmonious blend of spices made each spoonful a delight. The accompanying sides complemented the biryani perfectly, enhancing the overall dining experience.
After hearing rave reviews, we decided to wait for the Gutti Vankayaaya Pulao, and it was worth every minute. This divine delicacy, featuring stuffed baby eggplants cooked with rice, was a burst of flavors in every bite. The tender eggplants infused the pulao with their distinct taste, creating a symphony of textures and spices that left us speechless.
What truly made our experience at Charminar Cuisine exceptional was the outstanding service provided by the lovely and humble server, Anusha. Her genuine care and attentiveness made us feel right at home. She went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was nothing...
Read moreCharminar, the name is originally a name of a place in South India.
This restaurant really brought my experience of Indian food in non-Indian places to life. It offers a wide variety of Indian cuisines, South Indian, North Indian, and more! Even if you live faraway, the long drive to Charminar Indian Cuisine is extremely worth it!
The staff is wonderful, and the food is delivered quickly! The ambience is gorgeous, a beautiful blue and gold elegant theme!
Speaking of food, the food here is simply scrumptious! Your taste buds will be jumping with joy once you take even a single bite out of the food. Many other Indian restaurants serve hard and rubbery naans, but Charminar’s naans are soft, and delicious! As for the starters, I highly recommend the Vegetarian Manchuria. As I am a vegetarian, I do not know how the Non-Vegetarian foods are. A similar problem that fellow vegetarians share is that it is hard to find a good restaurant that serves a variety of vegetarian options. Look no further! Charminar is the place to be! The Manchuria is really crunchy, and cauliflower based. The sauce has a sweet and spicy finish to it, and the plating is very professional. The Daal Makhani, which is what we ordered for the main course, simply melts in your mouth! There is a splash of flavor in every morsel! The Vegetarian Biryani is also amazing! It is full of taste! Finally, for dessert, we ordered a bowl containing two Gulab Jamuns. I will admit, I have never tasted such a delightful Gulab Jamun made in a non-Indian place before! It is sweet, soft, and served hot, just like all the other food!
The wait time was 15 minutes, and they really surprised us with a spectacular lunch!
Overall, Charminar Indian Cuisine deserves 5 Stars, if not more, and I...
Read moreIf I could leave a negative review, I most certainly would. Yesterday, we made the grave mistake of ordering Royal Charminar veg dum biryani through Uber Eats. To our dismay, what was supposed to be a vegetarian delight turned out to be a deceptive Biryani filled with not only the usual vegetables but also small chunks of chicken. Initially mistaken for soy, a closer examination revealed the horrifying truth - it was chicken. My mother, an unwavering vegetarian since birth, was utterly disturbed by this vile betrayal.
For years, we had entrusted our palates to this restaurant, placing our faith in their ability to uphold our dietary beliefs. And yet, our loyalty has been repaid with this abhorrent act. We shall never grace their establishment with our business again. Although we may be just another customer in their eyes, they have callously toyed with the very core of someone's belief system. Imagine, for a moment, if you were served beef biryani instead of mutton biryani. Would you find it acceptable? I think not.
This lamentable incident has unquestionably marred our culinary experiences, and we are astounded that such a travesty could occur within the confines of Canada. In an attempt to rectify their grave mistake, we reached out to the restaurant, hoping for some semblance of remorse or empathy. However, their response only further highlighted their insensitivity. Offering free biryani as recompense is a pitiful attempt to compensate for the emotional distress and violation we have endured.
Their disregard for dietary preferences and lack of respect for their customers' beliefs are utterly...
