I think this place would sit between 3.5 to 4 stars overall.

The place seems newly renovated so it’s very comfortable, clean, and the service staff are very friendly and make sure you are taking care of.

Food in general, I noticed some are good , some are just ok depending on what you ordered. Today we had several kinds sashimi (Tai, Maguro, Hamachi) and fish are quite fresh. Especially the Tai, we ordered a whole fish, seems fresh and tasty! But it’s a bummer in my opinion the ginger and wasabi provided is subpar when comparing to other Japanese restaurants I went to. Fish would taste even better IMO particularly if they use better wasabi. Worth mentioning if u order the whole fish , they are willing to make a fish soup using the head and bones from your fish and the broth tastes quite light and refreshing. Thumbs up!

Tried the steak(Fillet mignon) last week, it’s just ok because steak wasn’t hot enough when it arrived the table and I asked for medium and seems it’s cooked to medium well. The steak is still soft and I was in a hurry so I just let it go. This dish still taste good but with abit room for improvement.

The miso black cod today is good. Very soft with miso flavor and the portion is decent comparing to other Japanese restaurants I visited for similar price.

Factoring the asking price (not cheap) , good and not so good, so overall, I put it between 3.5 to 4, closer to 4 based on the food I tried.

I probably would visit again when...

We went here for valentines day. The food was okay but I've never felt so rushed to eat in my life. Not to say the staff was rude but it was a very unpleasant experience. We had reservations for 9 at the teppanyaki table and ordered; there is not really any kind of "show" as they claim but they cooked our food really fast and set it on our plates right away. While we were eating he was taking away all our condiments (soya sauce, hot sauce) midway through eating he announced that they were closing at 10 and if we wanted deserts to order now. We opted out for the deserts but some of the people sitting beside us did. 5min later they bring two ice cream dishes out before they were done eating their mains. When we were done eating the bill came right away while the others were eating their half melted deserts. We each took turns using the machine and when someone at the table handed back the machine after using it, the waiter loudly said "IM VERY SORRY ABOUT OUR SERVICE TODAY" - obviously implying to the rest of the table that they did not tip him. He then followed by "Are you guys from the United States?" - as tipping is not a common act in the US. I found this extremely disturbing - again, the food wasnt bad, but the service deserves no stars which makes me inclined to say i will never return to...

We were here for my sister's birthday. Great service by the manager and the cook at the cooking table (I think his name was Wong). Our server, the supervisor, May, however kind of ruined the night for us. She was unpleasant and we felt a little rushed by her. Considering that this was our family union, a server's rushing attitude was the last thing I was looking forward to. She completely forgot about the iced tea I ordered, which I disregarded too. Cut the story short, I tipped her 15% on half of the bill. Other half of the people were so displeased that they did not want to tip at all, after all it is an expression of appreciation. I spoke to her as the manager was gone then, and she ended up telling me that we should not be going to eat if we cannot afford to tip a proper 15% of the total bill. I feel I wasted the 15% on half the bill as well. They make hourly, like everyone else not in food industry, and the bill was completely paid for. Utterly rude. It doesn't end there, I had an awful night throwing up, I'm wondering if the sushi fish was old. All in all a very bizarre experience. I don't think a good night out with family should be ruined by a waitress unhappy for being tipped less than 15% for an awful rushed service...

I was thoroughly impressed with the food as well as the service. The show the chef puts on is great to watch. The staff were attentive and really helpful while ordering. The other family at our table kept making ridiculous demands and the staff complied and we're still very nice to them. The family were smothering their entire meal in teriyaki sauce. If you want everything to taste like teriyaki sauce then go to a cheap buffet. They also demanded that their Pepsi be brought in a can, after it was brought to their table in a glass. The food was really tasty. They cooked my steak better then the steak I had at the Keg. They gave us a complimentary Deep Fried Ice Cream because we were celebrating a birthday and it was fantastic. I didn't see it on the menu but it was amazing and I will definitely order it again next time I go. The price is super affordable as a place to celebrate and I was actually really full after dinner. We had New York Sirloin, Salmon + Shrimp combo, Hot Sake, Shirley Temple, and paid for extra ice cream for dessert and out bill was only $65 before tax and tip. I am super impressed with the quality and price of the food and will definitely be back.

We have been a fan of Prince Japanese Steak House since the pandemic. We like to order beef and chicken teriyaki and lots of tempura. This has been our go to place to satisfy our cravings and get through days of being too lazy to cook. We had a birthday celebration here twice and food was great which was no surprise for us who were overly familiar with the menu. Our guests, the celebrant and his wife were very pleased with the taste and amount of servings on each plate. Service was very good too. Our waitress was very attentive and patient. We were placed near the window in one of the more private areas which is better than being with the crowded tables. COVID has made us not liking places that are too people-y. This restaurant is always packed so the little rooms were nice to be in for a change, away from all the chatter. Fresh vegetables on the salad, huge servings, every dish' taste was bang-on. We ordered the seafood combo, beef and chicken teriyaki and lots of tempura and some alcoholic drinks for the celebration. Highly recommend this place and try the tepanyaki table too and have fun with your friends.
