A Disappointing and Unhygienic Experience at Chiuchow Man Chinese Restaurant
I recently had the misfortune of dining at Chiuchow Man Chinese Restaurant, and I must say that it was a thoroughly disappointing experience. The moment I walked in, I was struck by the filthy state of the restaurant. The walls were greasy, with visible drips of oil staining the surface, and the kitchen area looked like it hadn't been properly cleaned in a long time.
The service was also subpar, with our waitresses being rude and inattentive. But what really took the cake was their blatant disregard for hygiene. They used the same cloth to wipe down tables and chairs, which is a serious health concern. Our table was sticky and dirty, and it was clear that it hadn't been properly cleaned before we were seated.
The food was also a letdown, with the exception of their deep-fried dishes. If you're looking for a greasy, fried meal, then Chiuchow Man might be the place for you. However, if you're expecting a well-rounded and flavorful Chinese meal, you'll be disappointed. The dishes we ordered were lackluster and uninspired, and the quality was not up to par.
Overall, I would not recommend Chiuchow Man Chinese Restaurant to anyone. The combination of filthy surroundings, poor service, and subpar food makes it a place to avoid. Until they take serious steps to address their hygiene and service issues, I would advise diners to look elsewhere for a decent...
Read morewent there with friends a group of 7 for dinner 2 days ago. I understand that restaurants usually charge ridiculously expensive for a small bowl of rice, but still i cant accept the fact that they charged us 2bucks for each small bowl plain rice. We were "struggling" to decide how many bowl of rice to get and the server aunty was so impatient and mumbling something. We also ordered a steamed fish, we forked apart a small part and saw the blood was caming out from flesh, obviously the fish was not fully cooked, then we immediately brought this up to the server and she mumbling again saying we almost finished the whole fish. Hey you seriously aunty?? thats your responsibility to make sure the quality of dishes before serve it to customers. Look like you have you attitude towards us. We were all unhappy with the food and service. We wanted to leave no tips for her arrogant and bad service but ended up still paying 10% tips. Really disappointing. A lot of asian restaurants especially chinese restaurant only allow cash payment, you know they can do tricks on their business taxation with this. I am okay with hassle of getting coin change under this cash payment method as long as you provide a good service and quality food or may be cheaper price but the way you run your restaurant is so...
Read moreHad the pork stomach and pepper soup, duck with taro and plum sauce and salted fish with chicken and tofu. Soup was delicious with the right amount of pepper. Not too spicy that it is overwhelming but enough to give a nice kick to it. The duck was nice. Tender and cooked enough for it to absorb the flavour of the sauce. It a little too sweet for my liking but I believe it would go well with kids and for those who has a liking for sweeter side of things. The tofu I would say it is decent. Nothing to complain about but also nothing to highlight. Just one of those common dish you would find in many places which they should really not messed up. Did not get to try the traditional braised dishes, which I believe what chiu chow cuisine is famous for. Will be back again to try. One very big disappointment. Our steam rice was undercooked. They were still a little crunchy in the middle. Basically that was what kinda ruined dinner. No point in asking them to change, since I'm sure the rest of the rice in the rice cooker is just as undercooked as the one I had. Place is mid-sized and very "cosy". Make reservation in advance if you have a group of more than 4 and planning to go during...
