The pasta I received today was shockingly inedible. It's truly surprising that a business would serve something of this poor quality.
My previous visit here was decent; the pasta was enjoyable, although I had requested extra Parmesan but was informed they had run out. Strangely, I later observed them providing Parmesan to the customer after me. How does a pasta place run out of Parmesan? I don't mind paying extra, but it seemed as though they didn't want to fulfill my request.
Today, I ordered the same dish, only to find it drenched in an overwhelming amount of chili flakes, rendering it inedible. I typically enjoy chili flakes and use them on my dishes without any issue. However, this time, it was excessively spicy, causing discomfort with every bite. Both my wife and I experienced burning sensations in our mouths due to an extreme amount of chili flakes. The imbalance was such that one piece of pasta was enough to cause discomfort.
I'm no stranger to spice; I regularly indulge in spicy food without any trouble. But the excessive spice level in this $30 meal made it completely inedible. I'm extremely disappointed with this experience and would strongly advise everyone to avoid this place. How could there be more chili flakes than actual pasta in the dish? It almost felt like the worker was intentionally trying to ruin our meal.
What's more, I hadn't even requested extra chili flakes. I asked for a normal amount along with Parmesan and garlic powder, yet they added an inedible quantity, completely overpowering the dish and leaving a burning sensation after every bite. It was such an unpleasant experience that I tried to force myself to eat it, only to end up with terrible stomach and chest pain due to the overwhelming spice levels.
This level of disregard for customer preferences and food quality is beyond unacceptable. I strongly caution against patronizing this place to anyone. Their lack of attention to customer service and food quality is evident, and I wouldn't want anyone else to have such a...
Read moreI'd be skeptical of the high rating. I suspect some positive reviews are fake (I'll explain why at the end.)
But first, the pasta was undercooked. This is the worst thing you can do with pasta in my opinion. Overcooked is still bearable, underseasoned can be seasoned, and cold can be reheated. But there's no remedy for customers when it comes to undercooked pasta.
Second, there wasn't much chicken on it either.
Third, it gets two stars instead of one because the sauce and cheese tasted good, although those too were scarce. Needless to say, I won't be going back.
Lastly, I'm very skeptical of a lot of the reviews on here. I suspect they may be purchased. People commenting on the ambiance and how helpful the servers are? This is in the Food District-- there is no ambiance and no one would go there for this reason. The place is pretty loud and looks very similar to all the other shops lined up along that side of the wall. And they have a person to take your order, but they're not waiters or waitresses like in a traditional restaurant. This is essentially a fast food joint.
Edit: Thanks to the owner for replying, not enough people do this, so I'll give them credit for following up.
Now, I''m not saying the pasta would always be undercooked. But, for at that price point, I'd expect it to be cooked properly and have more than the scarce amount of chicken it had. I got the meal to go, so I didn't have a chance to point this out to your staff.
Regarding your "Loyal Following"-- I'd have no suspicions if these people complimented the pasta or the sauces, that's totally reasonable. But to write at length about the ambiance really makes me think these people haven't been to the location and are submitting blind comments about generic pasta or Italian restaurants. The location is neat and looks clean, but it's absurd that anyone, let alone several people would...
Read moreIts over rated by blogto. "Amatriciana" is pasta with meat sauce, you can choose from linguine, rigatoni and fettuccine. You can see the linguine freshly made by a machine at the front of the store. The taste is average, for $12 is barely half full in a box. The meat sauce is good but the pasta is a little hard for me. There was no garnish nor cute packaging, interior is cute though. Service was not much, not a single smile and take your order and next customer. No recommendations nor casual talk. Toppings are all extra $
Response from the owner: "Dear Sarah, we know it can be difficult to understand but one of the prerogatives of Fresh Italian Pasta is being al dente which means a little bit hard. It is completely different from Chinese noodles. Just because spaghetti are similar to Chinese noodles you do not have to expect them to taste the same. We would love you to get in touch with us privately to explain deeper what your disappointment is about. We really want to improve thanks also to your critics! Dal Moro’s Fresh Pasta To Go"
UPDATE First, hello owner: it is rude to consider or even assume I only eat Chinese noodles, your reply made me feel very racist. Secondly, I have tried al dente pasta before and I know how it taste like. I have never expect your noodle to taste the same as other places I tried, that's why here is google review and every place gets a different review. Again, very disappointed on your reply about what I know...
