I’m writing to share a very disappointing and emotional experience I had at your café during two separate visits — one of which deeply impacted my family on a very special day.
The first time, I came with my family. We purchased bread, croissants, and coffee, paid at the counter, and sat down to enjoy our time together. A tall girl wearing a cap, who was working behind the coffee bar, approached us and asked, “Did you guys pay?” The tone she used was rude, harsh, and felt very intimidating. We were shocked to be questioned like that, especially after having paid. It wasn’t just uncomfortable — it was embarrassing. I also noticed her questioning an elderly couple in a similar manner. If the café doesn’t have a reliable system to track who has paid, that’s a management issue — customers shouldn’t be made to feel as though they’re being accused of something.
The second incident, however, was far more upsetting. It was my son’s 18th birthday — a milestone moment we were all looking forward to. We came in as a family to celebrate, bought bread, cheese, and cake, and just wanted to enjoy a quiet, meaningful time together. That same staff member brought the coffee and once again addressed us with the same rude and condescending tone. She told us we weren’t allowed to eat the bread and cheese, saying, “I’ll allow it this time, but next time no,” in a way that felt more like a scolding than a respectful reminder.
Her tone and attitude completely ruined the day. We felt humiliated and deeply disrespected. What was meant to be a joyful celebration turned into a hurtful, upsetting memory. My son — who had been excited about his special day — ended up feeling uncomfortable and let down. Instead of spending the hour we had planned together, we stayed only 30 minutes and left feeling upset and disheartened.
This was not just poor customer service — it was a moment that took away something we can’t get back. Birthdays like this come once in a lifetime, and her behavior left a lasting negative impression on all of us. It’s painful to think that a special day meant to bring us joy ended in disappointment because of how we were treated.
We believe in supporting local businesses, but kindness and respect should be the foundation of any customer experience. Sadly, based on these two experiences, we’ve decided...
Read moreWe went for a nice outing when Lazar bakery turned our experience into a nightmare. The place is so disorganized and very poorly setup. We sat outside on the patio and realized that this place is all self serve.
We got several overpriced pastries and coffee while trying to understand their non existing system of communication, service and lack of signage.
There is an absolute chaos inside with staff not knowing simple things such as if they had carrying trays or not. We were told they didn't have any and was so inconvenient to carry all our pastries and coffee in multiple trips and staff to the outside patio.
My father had already paid for the purchase but the woman in glasses and a blue t-shirt had the audacity to accuse and insult us of stealing while we had just literally paid but had to make multiple trips because the place is so incompetent in setting up a proper system that helps to ease the confusion.
We also ended up standing in line at the coffee station for 10 mins only to be told that we were in the wrong line and the regular coffee was in the corner somewhere on the table. Then there was no milk available and had to wait for it to be replenished.
The staff and the system needs revamping from top to bottom. All in all it took us around 45 mins just to order, pay and self transfer the pastries and coffee to the outside patio.
While we were there we experienced an incident in the restaurant with one of the customers being accused of stealing but the so called "manager" was making a spectacle in front of all the other patrons while she was busy scolding and insulting him. We talked to the so called "manager" who basically was apologetic after we gave her some feedback but I would not be bringing my business here or recommending it to...

This is an upgrade to a Home Run into into the parking lot in Fenway Park ...Woohoo !!!
I am back and they get 5 Stars because of their consistent good customer service, selection and quality of their goods.
And they are once again open for breakfast because their patio is back. They open early at 6:00AM and I was here today around 6:30AM and the place was already buzzing with activity. They had a full array of baked goods readily available and the deli section was already busy.
People were enjoying a home made breakfast on the patio while sipping an espresso. Now doesn't that feel normal again....yes...normal....
Feb 6th 2021:
I swung by again today to get some fresh croissants and some deli meat because I was going to grab some bubble tea at The Alley right next door anyways. Two birds with one stone. This bakery has been around for a long time in Mississauga and they are quite popular as shown by their legions of loyal and repeat customers. Myself included.
I really do enjoy their selection of fresh baked breads. That is my attraction for coming here. The selection of desserts are staggering. But I find some them to be a tad overly sweet. But still good mind you.
I do made time to visit whenever I am in the area to buy plenty of fresh bread. I freeze them at home and they taste amazing when I defrost them and toast them up. It tastes so fresh !!! Kudos to them. It is no wonder that they supply other Grocery stores and restaurants with...
