I love shawarmas and I've been to a couple outlets of the Lazeez Shawarma franchise but honestly the one at Lakeshore wins hands-down!
You wanna go to a place that's nice and clean, the food fresh and scrumptious and the servers prompt and friendly when you want your shawarma fix, and lemme tell you, you get all that and more here!
We went around 11 45 pm on a saturday night and it was pretty packed. We got our turn at the counter super quick though which speaks volumes for the level of service provided. Two thumbs up for that!
If you're not sure what to get, the owners are super hands on and always available for recommendations. We'd decided already to go for wraps and so ordered a mix shawarma wrap, a philly steak and a philly chicken wrap. Everything was absolutely yummy!
This is definitely one of the places that i'll be becoming a regular at!
The thing that i mostly notice with food chains that allow customization is freshness of the ingredients they have on display and let me tell you, even near closing on a saturday night, all the veggies were crunchy and super fresh -just like you'd want them! There wasn't one wilty, sad looking veggie in sight!!
While we got our food and decided to sit and enjoy it right there, there was constant customer footfall, with people coming in to quickly grab their food and be on their way. That's testament to a successfully running restaurant. You know for sure that with so many people coming in, the food has got to be fresh and great!
There's another thing i'd like to point out specifically about this particular location - the cleanliness. As i mentioned, iv been to other locations and honestly i was somewhat put off by how drab and dirty it seemed. These people been keeping their place lively and i really appreciate that.
Highly recommended and definitely going back again!
PS: Turns out they do everything better than the rest of the locations anyway and they've got a plaque certifying the fact - added a picture of that for ya'lls benefit. Go get your shawarma's people, you...

Went a couple months ago and ordered a shawarma to go, they have a paper by the cash that says what they put in the shawarma and asked me what I wanted, I specifically said no to a few ingredients including olives. Got home and sandwhich had everything and full of olives.
Called the next day to complain and they said next time I drop in they would give me another shawarma free of charge. They never mentioned this offer would expire and I dont live in the neighborhood so I'm not frequently in the area.
Called today to confirm before going in, and the girl who answered the phone laughs that it was a couple of months ago and asks my name to check anyways, of course she has nothing on file, then she accuses me of lying because I didnt get the name of the manager or person who told me I could get a free shawarma.
I asked to speak to the manager and she says the manager isnt in yet and she would have to check with him, so I ask when the manager will be in and she says maybe tonight. So I ask her to call the manager and she says she doesnt have his number and that shes working alone (lie). Then I ask her what her name is and she said her name was the same as mine (another lie). I ask for the managers name and she says its Marc.
So now I guess I gotta wait till "Marc" comes in to talk to him because she would...
Read moreI was about to get on at the Go Train station nearby and had some time to kill so I decided to come to Lazeez Shawarma. I have not gotten to try Lazeez yet because there are not many locations around Toronto and the Toronto East side.
It was just around opening time Friday when I dropped in so I believe the 3 staff people I saw were still at work opening up, starting the day, and preparing things. Waiting time for my regular size half & half (fries, rice) beef shawarma ($11.63 after tax) did not take too long after I placed my order. Staff service was excellent in all my interactions with them.
The shawarma was very comparable with what you can expect to get from a similar shawarma place such as Osmow's. Sauce mix was very much alike, but Lazeez seems to have less toppings sprinkled on it.
For anyone curious how the half rice-half fries shawarma order was prepared and presented, they have the rice and fries all mixed together under the sauced beef shawarma. It was not split evenly in the middle where all the fries are on 1 side, all the rice are on the other.
Last thing I will mention is that towards the end of me finishing the beef shawarma order, it ended tasting a little dry. This might be because the sauce may not be enough or that there are too much fries and rice proportionate to your meat or...
