I came to this restaurant because of great reviews here. But it turns out that this restaurant is very disappointed.
While waiting more than 30 minutes for my food to be ready, I noticed that there were many FLIES around. I felt so disgusting. If the waiting area has flies around, how about in the kitchen area?? It was what I thought at that time.
Their foods are also not so great either (they are BLAND). The rice of Schezuan Shrimp is NOT FRESH and too soft. The lady (she is also the owner of Lemon Grass Chicken Kitchen, the House of Pepper, and Yogi Noodles next door) is rude and has a bad temper. It is so sad that as an owner of the restaurant, she apparently doesn't know how to offer a great service. She can't behave and response appropriately to customers.
After waiting for more than 30 minutes, I followed up and asked her why my food was not ready yet? She snapped at me and said rudely "CHICKEN IS BEING COOKED! UNLESS YOU WANT A RAW MEAT. DO YOU UNDERSTAND ENGLISH?"
I purchased her foods with money (NOT asked or begged for her foods). No one (even a beggar) should be treated like that. It seems that she (the owner of the restaurant) does not know how to treat people humanely or to respond to customers appropriately.
Her response does not make sense, though. Other people (about 4 individuals) who came 10 - 15 minutes later than me had their food ready! I also ordered lemongrass chicken on rice and thought that the chicken might have to be grilled (I was trying to understand her excuse). But then, I found out later that the chicken was not grilled at all. It is not what I was expecting with Lemon Grass Chicken on rice since they only sliced and fried it. It won't take too long if it is only to fry the chicken slices since most restaurants have sliced and coated them with spicy flours before.
I guess ... price is the only great thing here since it is quite competitive but with flies around, bland taste, longer waiting time and rude service, I won't come back next time. One time...
Read moreI normally try not to leave bad reviews as you can see, either support or I don't support. This time it's different, I have ordered from this lady for years, she owns Yogi noodles and the House of pepper and lemon grass, she obviously has it monopolized, good for her! She normally is short and rude. I'm chinese too and look the other way. This time, she was a little too much...I asked for chilli oil, and she didn't hear the "oil", so she got me chilli sauce, I asked politely sorry I said "oil", she said in chinese, "SEE! You say one less word, you make me do so much kung fu! (Work!)" I was speechless, I had my son with me, and walked away...I was upset for such a rude response, like wow you are that LAZY! And you can't give two shiet about your customers, cuz you have it monopolized! Anyhow, I said maybe bad day, maybe Long day to myself...and left it at that. I ordered Shanghai noodles , for my wife, brought it home, never thought anything of it since I buy party trays and give her lots of business for my personal events and businesses! My wife takes a bite and it was full of pepper, we don't mind pepper but wow, I will attach a picture of the food, we can't eat it, nor can be bothered with her b.s.. I have seen her and heard on the phone with people that call to complain about her food and she really is rude and doesn't want to deal with it. I looked at it as a $7.00 donation...never again Will I bring business there, it i Will stick with "Sea Star, Dynasty bbq pork" good service and decent food. I regret giving her business as it has been unappreciated. If you are looking for other places try Star fast food at creditview and burnhamptorpe! This place has gone down hill! I wouldn't have left a bad review but the wasted food was the cherry...
Read moreLemongrass is located in the food court of a small mall. People mostly come here just for the food court.
The lady owns this restaurant and 2 more in the same food court. There's plenty of selections and the food is so cheap in comparison to an actual sit down restaurant. The quality and taste is also really good and the portions are large for what you pay for. I've ordered everything from the beef and mushrooms, sweet and sour on noodles (crunchy noodles - so good), and the deep fried shrimps on rice (shrimp breaded with skin on). If you order it for dine-in, you'll most likely get your dish in a sizzling pan. (For newbies - give the pan back to the restaurant and the tray goes by the garbage)
For those who have never been here, you can get overwhelmed by all the options.. not just at lemongrass.. but throughout the whole food court as a whole. After you pay, you'll receive a number and she'll call you when it's ready. Lemongrass is one of the better places because she's loud and also as a microphone lol. All her restaurants also offer bubble tea for I think $2, which is cheap. It's the powdered stuff but for $2 it comes with vanilla soft serve at the bottom, jelly and tapioca. You can pick which flavour you want and pour it yourself using the machines.
I've always come here when I've wanted cheap food and my family regularly orders here for our holiday parties and we've never been...
