Located in Mississauga, Kerala Curry House offers a culinary journey into the vibrant flavors of South Indian cuisine. Upon arrival at precisely 11:00 am, I secured the prime table as the first patron of the day, setting the tone for what I hoped would be a delightful buffet experience.
The buffet spread boasted an array of dishes encompassing both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, accompanied by salads, fruits, and desserts. Two varieties of soup added to the gastronomic diversity, although the imbalance between non-vegetarian and vegetarian selections was noticeable. Despite this, the pricing, approximately $24 plus tax per person, seemed reasonable for the variety on offer.
However, a notable aspect of the buffet experience was the time constraint. Patrons are allotted a mere 60 minutes to indulge in the culinary delights laid out before them. While understandable in a bustling restaurant environment, the restriction felt restrictive, particularly for those accustomed to leisurely dining. A modest extension to 90 minutes would have allowed for a more relaxed and enjoyable dining experience.
Although the time limit loomed, the staff did not rush patrons once the hour had elapsed, likely due to the lack of the usual bustling crowd. This gesture alleviated some of the pressure associated with the time constraint, fostering a more relaxed atmosphere.
In terms of food quality, the offerings were decent overall, with highlights including flavorful desserts and a commendable payasam. However, the veg corn soup was marred by excessive saltiness, detracting from an otherwise satisfying culinary journey.
Additionally, the presence of a small cockroach near the dessert counter was a concerning observation, indicating a lapse in cleanliness and hygiene standards.
While such occurrences are unfortunate, I couldn't help but wish for greater attention to detail in maintaining a hygienic environment. Addressing such issues promptly would undoubtedly enhance the dining experience and instill confidence in patrons regarding food safety.
Despite these setbacks, Kerala Curry House offers a commendable dining experience for those seeking an introduction to South Indian cuisine. The diverse buffet spread, coupled with reasonable pricing, makes it an attractive option for culinary exploration. However, improvements in hygiene standards and a reconsideration of the time limit policy would elevate the dining experience to greater heights.
In summary, Kerala Curry House receives a rating of 3 out of 5. While the food quality and variety show promise, areas such as cleanliness and dining restrictions warrant attention for future improvement. With a commitment to addressing these concerns, Kerala Curry House has the potential to become a standout destination for South Indian cuisine enthusiasts in...

The four of us visited today (Sunday) for lunch at around 12:30. We opted to do the a la carte menu instead of the buffet.
We were seated and was a little overwhelmed by the menu, so we asked our server what he recommends/best sellers. We then took his suggestions and ordered in the order of the menu (this is important detail). The four of us ordered 4 mains, 2 breads (we asked for 1 initially and our served asked "only 1?", which we then changed to 2) , a coke zero, and a diet coke.
They did not have coke zero so I just sticked with water.
Food started arriving very slowly which is totally fine. We were not in a rush. They did, however, arrive in 2s. By the time we had all dishes on our table, we assumed some dishes were so large it required 2 bowls. Keep in mind we have no knowledge of the food they serve here. It was also absolutely obvious to our server.
Fast forward, when we got our bill, we realized the coke zero was on it, as well as 2 other dishes we did not order. And this is why we definitely think they are scammers.
If they don't have coke zero, why is coke zero even an option? I ordered by the order of the menu due to our lack of knowledge. In other words, I remembered where each items were in the menu and basically followed that order. Clearly in the receipt photo, the 2 dishes near the bottom were added AFTER we ordered our drinks. When they were bringing on the dishes, they did not bother telling us what they were serving. They just dropped 2 dishes at a time and dipped. During our meal, it was almost impossible to flag our serve. The only time he came was when we were not even close to finishing our meal and he asked if we wanted our bill.
I raised the confusion to the server who brought our bill, who is different from our server who took our order and is nowhere to be found. He acknowledged the confusion and came back with only the coke zero crossed out (as seen in the receipt) and wouldn't provide any support or explanation for the 2 dishes at the bottom. All of a sudden, it started to seem like he didnt understand what i was saying. Even more suspicious.
I will definitely be sharing this on my social media as an influencer. In the meantime, AVOID...
