
I had seen a raving review about this place on IG, and I approached with really high expectations.
Service: Staff was quite friendly, from the one who took my order and explained my options to the one who showed me where I could charge my phone or I wouldn’t have been able to Uber back home, to the one who checked in while I was eating to the one at the end of the meal.
Layout: Space was optimized, ambience was good. Though I had to move from the sitting position I originally took, I could perceive the odour from the rest room.
The food: Hmmm… thought it took a bit longer then it should but I waited patiently, then there was a bit of mix up, had asked for the mussels to be taken out and replaced with extra calamari, they took out the whole calamari, upon my observation, they apologised effusively and took out the mussels, don’t think I got the extra calamari but was by then too hungry to be fussy.
I spooned the rice and the waitress could tell from the look on my face that something wasn’t quite right. It was tepid bordering on cold. I asked if it could be microwaved, i absolutely don’t do cold food and she said all they had was a small microwave which couldn’t warm the meal.
I tried the calamari and it was just lukewarm as well, but she insisted that the food was fresh off the fire.
The only thing that tasted truly fresh was the prawn. The shrimps felt warmed up.
Someone came to ask how I was enjoying the food half way and I said it was tasty, but not hot, and she insisted that it was fresh off the fire.
Determined to make the best of it I ploughed through, their smiles making up for my dissatisfaction with the meal.
But I wasn’t there for the smiles, though a welcome add-on.
And I have had, DEFINITELY had better, fresher seafood.
While ravings can draw customers, it’s the food quality that brings them back.

The lady told me they couldn’t do that because the order was already started . In my opinion, any customer has the option to cancel an order as long as it hasn’t been eaten or touched. The fact that my order just started to get prepared and couldn’t get cancelled was absurd. I then accepted what they said and took the food when it was done. I got home and ate it , I didn’t like it. The fish tasted like the smell of the restaurant. I didn’t want to waste my money so I decided to put it in the Fridge to eat it at a later time. The next day , I went to eat it and by the time I got to the end of the box I found a digusting HAIR in my food. I then called the restaurant to explain, but because I wanted to cancel the order yesterday they accused me of trying to scam them to get my money back. The food and it's authentic taste that takes us backhome never disappointed. The only thing that almost ruined our experience is the waitress today. She was not pleasant to say the least. It started when we started to order. I asked for the Najil (hammour) fish to be cooked Sangari style. She replied No! This specific fish is only fried! I asked why? She replied that's how we make it. I was surprised coz I have had it made Sangari style a few times in the past even before they closed thier old location in scarbrough. I asked her to speak to Hisham. The owner.
