Second Cup Café — Restaurant in Mississauga

Used to be a nice place. Apparently a new owner.

My visit was Sunday at 9:15pm and the store closes at 10pm. These timings will make a difference as you will know later. Only one barista serving and the store is busy, it took me around 15 minutes to pick my drinks. I ordered two regular coffee drinks with milk and wanted to use the washroom until my order gets ready. I approached the washroom and found a young lady telling me she has to wash it and since store is closing in nearly 30 minutes she would not allow customers to use it for the rest of the night!!

I could not believe it so I went to the barista wondering so he suggested me to go to a public washroom that is nearby!!! I asked to speak to the manager as I felt this is inappropriate, only to find him saying it is the young lady cleaning up the washroom. I returned back to the lady to speak to her since my drinks were not ready yet, I started to explicitly express how bad I felt towards that attitude so she said give me couple minutes to finish cleaning up then you can use it. I was able to use the washroom eventually but felt bad towards the attitude.

Coffee is not bad but for the price I would go to Starbucks. Not going to return back again considering the attitude...

This is my first time that I was this upset with the service of the cafe. The female staff was very rude - I was asking questions related to the drinks and her attitude was arrogant even before getting my cup wrong when I was asking for the sizes and the payment methods. I said I wanted a drink without any sugar and asked if the chai latte has any sugar (sugar, honey) in it. She said the Chai concentrate is by default sweet and so I asked if I could have london fog instead. She gave me a cup of London Fog still with sugar and I asked if I could get one without it, and she was unwilling to remake the London Fog and asked that I have to pay half the price just to get it right the second time. During the process, she sounded very arrogant and rude in both her explanations and attitude and didn't apologize at all. I was more mad in her attitude than actually the additional price.

The Wifi is also very slow even though the environment was great. There are not that many people in the cafe and nobody was lining up behind me and I have no idea why she can still be that impatient. That said, the cafe has a great environment with sunset and...

There’s no indication on where to line up, and the barista was extremely rude and had a condescending tone. The card machine wasn’t working, and I get it, it’s not their fault. I asked the barista whether the carrot cake has raisins in it, since I looked at it through the display and there was something in it that looked like raisins - and I wanted to confirm since I am allergic to them. When I asked him, he looked at me and said in a very sarcastic tone “Carrot cakes don’t have raisins in them” and he started listing the ingredients in them, that’s when his coworker interrupted and said that they do contain raisins. He didn’t apologize for the mishap, and told her “maybe you should be taking orders since you can answer all their questions”. I was so put off by his tone and ordered hot chocolates for my friend and I, and he turned to her and said “yay, more hot chocolates for you to make” in a very sarcastic tone. I work in customer service as well, and we hold off our rude and sarcastic comments for later, not when the customer is standing right in front of us.
