AVOID AT ALL COSTS – A Truly Disappointing Experience
I had one of the most unpleasant customer service experiences at Smoke’s Poutinerie in Toronto Pearson Terminal 3—and this was before I even received any food.
At around 12:30 PM on June 21 2025, as the second customer of the day, I simply approached the counter when an order was called out. The announcement wasn’t clear, so I walked up to check if it might be mine. What could have been a simple, polite “Sorry, that’s not your order” turned into an unnecessarily rude and dismissive interaction.
The staff’s response was shocking. With zero courtesy, they snapped back and justified their behavior by saying, “We deal with a lot of orders—we can’t please everyone.” That’s their idea of customer service?
Let’s be honest—no one expects luxury treatment at an airport food court, but basic respect is the bare minimum. The way I was spoken to was hostile, unprofessional, and downright unacceptable. I was eventually refunded, but by then the damage was done. The experience was frustrating and insulting.
And again—this was all before I even received my food. Given the chaos and lack of care I witnessed at the counter, not eating there was probably the best outcome.
If you’re in Terminal 3, do yourself a favour and eat literally anywhere else. This place does not deserve your business or...
Read moreThe one good perk is that the location is tucked away in a quiet area of Terminal 3 - there's seating available including picnic tables for larger groups, and the washrooms are conveniently located adjacent. There is a door to outside but there is no outdoor patio space/seating, as the door sign says. We tried the Veggie Delight poutine and the Butter Chicken poutine - unfortunately both were disappointing. The veggie poutine was doused in condiments and had a bit of pureed avocado, while 1/2 the container was filled with (salty) gravy so all the fries were drenched and soggy from the get go. There was also cold cheese chunks in the mix. The butter chicken was a bit better but still over saturated with poutine gravy - which I suppose could be a preference for some people. We found it too heavy to finish eating and ended up tossing half of our poutines. YYZ doesn't really have dining options at this terminal so seating wise this is one of the better ones if you can stomach the...
Read moreWorst poutine ever! Having this poutine as someone who is not familiar with Smoke’s Poutine gives people the worst impression about the brand itself and the quality they provide.
The poutine is not made properly, all the ingredients taste as if they’ve been stored for weeks, including the fries – which are then topped with a massive amount of gravy.
Please change the people working here or close this location, it’s absolutely terrible. Nothing compared to a real well prepared Smoke’s Poutine.
Service was pretty bad as well, zero customer...
