Best Friend Chinese Restaurant 老友記 — Restaurant in Mississauga

Worse experence ever from any resturant. We ordered delivery. A girl named Clair took our order from the phone. Then asks us "Can you give a big tip because it's not for the resturant." "It's for the driver" I had though she was asking for someone else who will be delivering the food, but it was for herself. I was fine with that. But then she gets lost and calls me for direction and then asks us to come down stairs of our condo to meet her. Why would the customer come down stairs when it's part of her her job. Then ask us for big tip.

Most of all the food delivered was spilt everywhere complete mess and she didn't brings our soup. Which we always ordered with our meal. Our last driver forgot the soup one time and came back with it. This time with her. I called her she started to make excuses to not come back with our soup, which we maked sure our meal came with. She started to blame it on the person who packed the food. When she was the one who took our ordered. She should have made sure that it was there. When she was the one who took down the order. Complete mess!

Anyways I don't think this lady should be working there. Never had an experience like this. Not to mention when we asked for our soup she said it would take her 2 hours, when really it's only 10 min. max 15 min. Drive. And suggested me to go back to the resturant next time and she will give us a discount.

People don't care about discount. They want good service. And she just killed it. We have been going to this resturant for the last 5 years. After this experience with Clair. We are never returning.

BTW after making all these excuses she hangs up on me. Rude as hell. And we gave her $10 dollar tip not knowing our order...

I have been dining here for over 20 years now. They have never disappointed me with their authentic Szechuan and Cantonese cuisine, and every time we have dined there was an exploration of vivid, complex, authentic culinary journey into China!

I like their use of authentic Szechuan and Cantonese spices, herbs and special sauces..

My favorites are Sliced Steak with fried garlic and potatoes, Wagyu beef fried rice, Salt and pepper jumbo Shrimp, Salt and pepper fried calamari, Snow pea leaves with garlic and Shiitake mushrooms, Scallops with morchella, fried pork with Hoisin sauce and garlicz crabmeat and sweet corn soyp, and spicy hotpot fish with prickly ash spice.. It's complete with the umami taste of hot chili paste oil as condiment!

When my family and I dined there on a weekday evening in May 2025, there were two young lady servers who have joined the staff recently. Their service was absolutely excellent and very polite, courteous and extremely helpful. They introduced the pickled radish called Yel_lowe_pour, served with wagyu beef rice.

This dining experience reminds me of my times in Kowloon, Hong Kong, the restaurant is packed with discerning chinese clients, so the food is authentic! Not watered down, westernized fake chinese cuisine in all you can eat buffets or other fake chinese food joints.

We will always go to dined at Best Friend Chinese whenever we will be in Mississauga!

Racism and stale short ribs was the highlight of my night. I have tried Best Friend Chinese many times and always had fresh food. This time the short ribs were stale, it seemed like they microwaved it and gave it to me because I complained about the first short ribs I received. Being the only black person there last night I wasn't treated like I belonged. My server had my drink in her hand walked passed me to an Asian family dropped off to go plates then walked back to drop off my drink. I did not feel offended until she did that the second time with my food, she actually had my food right beside the Asian family's table for a bit before dropping it off to me. At the end of every meal they give out free desert and say thank you in Chinese, my server gave everyone in the room a desert and did not give me one much less say thank you. I asked a family right beside me if it was free and he said yes, I said oh interesting I actually never gotten the free desert the family asked that I should ask for a FREE DESERT (THAT WAS HANDED OUT)! I got really upset and walked out I couldn't even finish my drink. Best friend Chinese did not make me feel inclusive! I'm was disappointed! I definitely won't be going...
