Thanh Son TOFU — Restaurant in Mississauga

Sometimes you just gotta treat yourselves! On route home from Guelph, Ontario, we made a quick stop at Thanh Son Tofu, located inside Mississauga Chinese Centre 密西沙加中國城

Thanh Son Tofu is a Vietnamese shop that specializes in tofu treats and many authentic and traditional Vietnamese good eats! Customers and staff were mainly speaking in Vietnamese... I have NO idea what they were saying, and I don't know how to pronounce anything inside the store LOL

After pointing around, and holding up the line, I found myself ordering the following items to try:

Sticky rice topped with Vietnamese sausage and ham Grilled banana stuffed sticky rice (2pcs) with coconut sauce Pandan flavoured soybean drink Chè Bà Ba aka Taro, cassava, yams and tapioca in coconut milk Steamed rice rolls with fish sauce Crispy rice cake topped with shredded pork, chili flakes and a hint of sweetness Glutinous rice cake sandwiched bby 2 thiccc slices of Vietnamese ham (my favourite!)

CASH ONLY. The food I ordered was AMAZING. So much flavours with lots of different textures. I would recommend everything savoury there - the sticky rice with the sausage and ham, and the steamed rice rolls are my favourite! I personally think it was worth a visit if you're heading...

Been wanting their tofu / soy items for so long and it was definitely worth the wait.

The deep fried tofu was a big highlight. Looked amazing and tasted so nice and fresh. Nice crisp bite and then the hot silky tofu in the centre.

The tofu dessert was so good. The silky texture can be seen with each large spoonful. Love the fact that it comes with toppings. The sugar syrup, a ginger syrup and a coconut sago as well.

The pandan one looked awesome with the green colour and that one tasted really good with the coconut sago. The only thing is I wish there was a more pandan taste as it usually is a very light flavour.

Service was as usual for an asian place. Focused on turning over customers. So even with a long line, did not wait long at all. They may seem rough but overall will try their best to service.

Dishonest business with no quality control or care for customer service. Saw a similar review for the same experience by someone else a few months ago which is really telling more of a pattern and not a once off experience. It's a long drive so when I come through we buy a lot and in the last 2 visits both times they shorted the items purchased. On my recent visit I showed them receipt, explained what was missing (just 1 item) when I got home, and also pointed out the lady that helped me that acknowledged I had asked her to help split an order of 2 items into 2 packages. She just said she couldn't remember and they disregarded the concern entirely as if I was going to stand in line, order another 3 bags of items and stand there to lie about a $6 item. When we got home this time they again miscounted and shorted our spring roll after telling us 4 was the minimum order and then only bagging 3. I'm not returning to babysit these undertrained staff and help them count products and will happily pay a premium...
