Thali was good. Naan was fresh, butter chicken was sweet and salty, so it was good! The goat curry was too salty, and they didn’t give enough meat pieces. Chicken tikka curry was trash, wouldn’t get it again, too watery and not enough flavour. Veggies and paneer was good. Service is the main reason for the 2 stars. Bathroom downstairs had bodily fluids all over seat, and when we went to inform staff that the bathroom isn’t clean, they shrugged us off and said they don’t have staff, while the staff was just standing around… it wasn’t even that busy… So my family had to search the plaza for another place just to go to the bathroom.

Visited Sweet India and decided to try their paneer bread pakora and a samosa. There was only one bread pakora left, and I’m glad I got it — it was perfectly crispy on the outside, soft inside, and full of flavour. The samosa, however, didn’t quite meet my expectations in taste. What really stood out was the amazing service; the staff were friendly, attentive, and made me feel welcome. Even though I had to wait a few minutes for my order, the warm hospitality and that delicious bread pakora made the visit worthwhile.

Smells really good when you walk in the door. The food is a decent portion, flavour is 4/5. We had the Dal Makhni and Chicken Vindaloo, both kinda plain, but the pickled carrot and onion were quite nice. The Naans were good, perhaps could’ve been salted a touch more. The sweets, though, are delicious. 1/2 pound, the smallest of the boxes, was less than $6… you can’t beat that.

If I could rate this 0 or negative stars I would!! The shittest experience I ever had at a restaurant. I walked in "SWEET INDIA" with 2 friends On WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 30, 2016 around 5pm after Work and waited for someone to take our order for 20 mins, the woman/ manager was so arrogant and rude SHE DID NOT TAKE OUR ORDER. Moreover SHE IGNORED US AND SERVED SOMEONE ELSE. I DIDNT UNDERSTAND WHAT SHE HAD AGAINST ME OR MY FRIENDS. However, After long wait we placed our order and the same woman served us. We Ordered Chana Bathura, Chaat Papri, and Paneer Bread Pakora. The Chaat Papri looked okay; we wanted to eat that last, She Over Fried the toast MAKING IT SO HARD TO EVEN BITE and when I took few bites of the Chana Bathura I BIT ON A ROCK ALONGSIDE. YES!! THERE WAS A PEBBLE SIZED """"ROCK"""" IN MY FOOD. I IMMEDIATELY WENT BACK TO THAT IRRESPONSIBLE WOMAN and gave it in her hand, SHE STILL KEPT HER UNPROFESSIONAL ATTITUDE , SHOWED NO REMORSE AND SAID WHAT YOU WANT ME TO DO THEN? THIS PROVED THAT THIS BUSINESS DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ITS CUSTOMERS AND HAS NO PROFICIENCY IN DEALING WITH CUSTOMERS/COMPLAINTS. SHE LATER SAID I CAN DO ANYTHING WHAT YOU WANT, FREE FOOD? WOAHH, THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS, I COULD HAVE CHOKED ON THAT ROCK OR BROKE MY TOOTH. SHE HAD NO CONCERN AND TOOK 0% LIABILITY OF THE FOOD SHE SERVED US WITH. I ASKED FOR MY REFUND AND SHE JUST PUT IT ON THE COUNTER. AT LAST, WE took the refund, walked out and had to go back because I thought I left my phone inside, While I checked around, I OVERHEARD THE WOMAN TALKING THAT SHE MEANT TO DO THAT TO MY FOOD IN PUNJABI (HER LANGUAGE)!!! I WAS STUNNED, IF I WANTED I COULD HAVE SUED HER AND SHE WOULDN'T BE SELLING ANYTHING NO MORE BECAUSE SHE DOESNT HAVE SKILLS TO BE PROVIDING CUSTOMER SERVICE / SATISFACTION IN THE FIRST PLACE!! SHE RUINED MY APPETITE, UPSET MY STOMACH AND I COULD NOT EAT PROPERLY THE WHOLE DAY!!

I SUGGEST YOU DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING THERE, MANAGEMENT AT RESTAURANTS LIKE THESE DO NOT UNDERSTAND THAT THE CUSTOMERS ARE PAYING FULL AND HOPING FOR A EATABLE MEAL AFTER A LONG TIRING DAY AND BY DOING SUCH FOOLISH THINGS THEY ARE NOT ONLY CAUSING CUSTOMERS HARDSHIPS BUT ALSO TO THEIR BUSINESS. IF THEY KEEP THEIR ATTITUDE IN PLACE OF BUSINESS THERE WILL SOON BE NO "SWEET INDIA" ONLY "BITTER" LIKE THEIR...

I've been going to Sweet India on a weekly basis for the past couple of months after being recommended by a friend and loved everything about the place! The food is amazing, the service is phenomenal and the restaurant always looks like it just opened the day before. I recently placed a catering order which is why I felt compelled to write this review in the first place. The manager (Raj, I think) took my order and assured me that everything would meet my expectations or she would make it right... she wasn't kidding!!! The order was beautifully packaged, the food was amazing and consistent and all of my guests were so impressed!!! When I returned yesterday to place a lunch order, she took the time to ask me (by name) if I was pleased with my catering order and again reminded me that she would make right any complaints I may have had... NOW THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! If I could give give the place 10 stars, I would!!! My only criticism would be the restaurant seems to be under staffed for how popular and busy they are... and for good reason. I mean the place really fills in and quickly and while I've never seen staff of a restaurant hustle so much, it would really help to move customers through if there were more people working there. It always seems to be no more than 2 or 3 ladies including the manager at the front; which is fine for Tim Hortons but for a sit down restaurant? I would recommend Sweet India to anyone and have recommended to...

This is tough one for me to write. I have been going to Sweet India since the early 90's. When they used to have their colorful sweets boxes stacked up on the back walls. The food was always so good, the flavors, the aroma and the freshness were notably the reason we always went back.

As noted previously, there has been some much needed major renovations. The store is beautiful, however the taste of the food has been lost, the freshness is no longer there, the service is that of a fast food chain and the cost of dishes have gone up considerablly. Take your order, pay, get your food minutes later.

The last time I went there the food was the same, so was the service. I waited a few months to go back to see if it was just bc of new staff, new place & new equipment. So I went in today, nothing much has changed. I wish the 2 old gentlemen who worked the front counter previously were still running the front end service.

Sadly, I do believe this is the last time I buy food @ Sweet India :( Between the prices rising considerably, the portions shrinking and the taste being watered down my mind was made up for me.

For reference, the lunch special was $5.65 previously for butter chicken +Naan (or half rice, and 1 naan) now its $9.02 (62% increase)for the same dish smaller portion but very...
