If I could rate this place with zero stars, I would. For starters, we ordered the pork ramen and had a side of the beef. The pork was decent but the beef had an awful fishy taste and was incredibly cold and dry when we received it. Instead of complaining we just warmed it up in the broth. Upon leaving the restaurant and finishing our meal, our stomach was already hurting and in severe pain but we just assumed it was because we ate a lot. But the pain just got worse as time progressed. In fact it kept us up all night and made it impossible to sleep (that is how horrible it was). After the intense stomach pain, everyone experienced diarrhea and nausea for hours on end. The type of diarrhea that has you sweating and dying on the toilet for what feels like days. We were unable to eat or even walk as a result of the stomach pain, nausea, and diarrhea. Before we are told it is just the "flavouring" used in the ramen, we have had similar ramen in other locations and have NEVER EVER felt this way. In fact other restaurants in general have never made us feel this way, even the ones that typically hurt your stomach have never done this much damage to us. The nausea caused us to throw up MULTIPLE TIMES and made us sick for close to 48-72 hours. This is the very definition of food poisoning and It was a horrible experience and we will never be coming here again and will never ever recommend this location to anyone. I believe there is improper food handling occurring in this restaurant. I have seen multiple complaints in these reviews and the owners seem to take little to no action concerning this. Before someone gets really sick you need to look into what is causing this IMMEDIATELY. Please DO NOT come here, and if you do for some odd reason, DO NOT order the beef at any cost. You may experience a lot of stomach pain and if your really really unlucky, you'll be dehydrated, nauseous, sick, and feeling like you're dying for days on end. the only redeeming factor was that the service was quick. The ramen itself is really average and expensive. The restaurant itself was VERY empty on a Sat evening and I'm beginning to realize why. do not trust this location and if you're really craving ramen, try anything else for the sake of...
Read moreA Delightful Ramen Experience!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Takumi Ramen and I must say, it was an extraordinary ramen experience that left my taste buds dancing with delight. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere, setting the stage for what turned out to be a truly memorable meal.
First and foremost, let’s talk about the star of the show – the ramen itself. I opted for the Shio ramen and it was a flavor explosion in every bite. The broth was rich and velvety, with a perfect balance of umami goodness. The noodles were cooked to perfection – firm yet tender. Toppings were fresh and vibrant, adding both texture and flavor complexity to the dish. It’s evident that the chefs here are true artisans when it comes to crafting the perfect bowl of ramen.
The menu at Takumi offers a variety of options to suit every palate. Whether you’re a fan of classic tonkotsu, spicy miso, or vegetarian ramen, they have something for everyone. Plus, they offer customizable spice levels, so you can tailor your ramen to your preferred level of heat.
The service was impeccable. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, happy to offer recommendations and answer any questions about the menu. They made me feel right at home, adding to the overall enjoyable dining experience.
In addition to their fantastic ramen, Takumi also offers a selection of delectable appetizers and sides. I highly recommend trying their Takoyaki, which paired perfectly with my ramen and added an extra layer of indulgence to the meal.
To sum it up, my visit to Takumi was nothing short of exceptional. If you’re a ramen enthusiast or simply looking for a delicious and satisfying meal, this is the place to be. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their menu. Don’t miss out on this hidden gem in the...
Read moreToday was my 1st time trying ramen at Takumi Ramen in Mississauga. I dined in for lunch during mid afternoon (it was not busy at all) and tried their black garlic tonkotsu ramen as well as their chicken karaage with their regular sauce.
Menu selction is limited but I was extremely satisfied with my order. The tonkotsu broth was absolutely delicious and had the right amount of flavour. I liked how the broth wasn't too rich/heavy and salty. The marinated egg was not overcooked; the yolk was still runny inside (preferably my favourite) and was packed with a well-balanced umami flavour. The in-house ramen noodles tasted average to be honest. They were cooked fine but there was nothing noticeably special about them. As for the chicken karaage, it was tasty and wasn't too oily. Pricing wise, for the quality of my ramen dish overall and the amount of chicken I got--it was reasonably priced.
Also, I was really impressed with their customer service. An Asian female server took my order but I'm not sure what her name was. I suspected she had some kind of subtle Australian/South African/Scottish accent? Anyway, she was SUPER kind, sweet, friendly, and caring. Service was quick and she checked in with me after a few times to make sure my food was prepared just how I liked it. The restaurant was also noticeably clean and spacious. Parking was easy to find. I will definitely be coming back for sure and I would 110%...
