12/15/23 Update: "one of the owners made it right for us with a decadent, and accurate order for my mom's birthday. She was really happy with her Ube Tres Leches. Thank you Purple Oven. Im sure the first order was a minor mix up and future orders from your bakeshop will go smoothly."
12/1/23 I ordered a birthday cake for my dad’s birthday from purple oven bakery, hoping to surprise him with his favorite ube sans rival cake. I was very specific about the flavor and the design, and they assured me that they could make it. I paid $60 for the cake, which I thought was a bit pricey, but I wanted to make my dad happy.
When I picked up the cake, I noticed that it looked different from the picture I showed them. It was not purple, but all white. I asked them if they made a mistake, and they said no, this was the ube sans rival cake. I was confused, but I didn’t have time to argue, so I took the cake and left.
When I got home, I cut a slice of the cake and tasted it. It was not ube sans rival at all. It was just a regular sans rival cake. It was dry, bland, and stale. I felt cheated and angry.
I was so disappointed and frustrated. I ruined my dad’s birthday with a terrible cake that he didn’t even like. I wasted $60 on a cake that I could have bought for $10 at any grocery store. I will never order from purple oven bakery again, and I advise everyone...
Read moreBeing a fan of Filipino treats, I finally got a chance to visit Purple Oven Bakeshop for the first time a couple of days ago. They have a nice setup with free samples in the middle and a variety of treats to choose from along the walls. The place is very clean and organized. The guy working there was super friendly and cool and was very helpful with what to pick. All the food there is his mom's special recipes, which you can definitely taste the unique homely goodness, and they're thankfully not overly sweet and not loaded with sugar like some other places! Even my super picky parents liked them, so that says something! The Food for the Gods bar, Mango Jam Shortbread Cookies and Ube Crinkles were delish! I'll definitely be back soon and can't wait to try more of their stuff! 🤤 Highly recommend.

Read moreI ordered the puto and the kakanin platters for my engagement party and I have no regrets! The desserts were beautiful and delicious. A big hit with my friends who had never tried any Filipino desserts before. ❤️ They delivered exactly when they said they would (about a 2 hour window if I can remember). The online ordering system was easy to navigate, and the shop was quick to respond to my questions about allergens. I will gladly re-order when it comes time for my wedding! There was a glitch in the email delivery system about a month before I received my order where it kept sending me confirmations that my order was delivered. I reached out to the team and they quickly responded that this was just an error in their system. My order was unaffected!.So if it happens to you don't worry! My only other feedback would be that it would be really helpful to have a proper lid for the kanakin platter for storage. Overall though, a great experience. Thank you to this lovely shop for making my...
