This is going to be a long review but i hope the owner could read this and have some changes. This is the worst Japanese restaurant experience that i've ever had in Moncton. I don't understand why the restaurant has so many good reviews on Google. My sister and i came in the restaurant at 7:30pm. It was not busy at all but i can't understand why the waitresses were so slow. We waited 20min for them to take our orders. And it even took them half an hour to bring us water. Not just us, other tables were the same. They couldn't even clean the old tables, new customer who came in had to wait for them. The kitchen was also super slow. They said that they were short of staff, but i saw like 6 people in there. What were they doing?! The total time we have to wait from when we ordered to when we received our last dish was MORE THAN AN HOUR. Next, let's talk about the food. We waited so long like that so we thought maybe the food is good. And as you can see in the pictures, they were burned. But the most disappointment was the bulgogi. I couldn't believe my eyes when they bring out that dish. Did they think we were stupid? Did they think we don't know what bulgogi look like? Their dish was just some boiled meet with some veg and a pepper on top. The order was over $18 and it was so ridiculous. Again with the customer service, the waitresses manner was affected and careless. They were all smiling and acted politely but truthfully, they didn't care about customer. It's like they don't know how to say the word "sorry". They let lot of people wait but they never said the "sorry" even once. After we complained and returned the bulgogi, the waitress brought the dish back to the kitchen and didn't say a word with us, she didn't tell us what they will do. After half an hour, she came back to our table and asked if we wanted another dish or wanted to remove it from the bill. We were speechless, we couldn't believe it. After all, we wanted to complain to say our mind, but also to help the restaurant. But after hearing us, the waitress just smile and nod. Just by looking at her, we can know that she doesn't care at all, she just listen and then forget about it. I'll definitely never come back to this place ever. I can't believe how nice me and my sister were. We were tortured for 2 hours but we still tried to finish our dish. If it were other people, they would have left already. This was so horrible.

A Cozy Culinary Delight If you find yourself wandering the streets of Moncton, with a craving for sushi that is both delightful and unpretentious, Japan Go Sushi awaits you with open doors. This modest establishment, nestled conveniently on Main Street, is a gem for those who favor simplicity and quality in their sushi experience. On a day marked by a brisk, long walk, my son's yearning for squid balls steered our path towards this new venture. The restaurant, though compact, radiates a welcoming ambience. Its décor strikes a fine balance - not overly adorned, yet suffused with enough elements to evoke a serene Asian dining atmosphere. Our meal commenced with beverages - a green tea for my son and a diet soda for myself. While the tea didn't quite meet my son's preference, known for his fondness of Orange Pekoe and Earl Grey, I found it quite to my liking. A complimentary Miso Soup soon followed, swiftly served with a warm smile. It proved to be a comforting start to our meal on that crisp day. The heart of our culinary exploration was the Takoyaki (Squid Balls) and Spicy Tuna Rolls. The Takoyaki, drenched in a sauce akin to sweet hoisin, was rich and indulgent. We both appreciated the dry fish on the side, adding a contrasting texture to the dish. While my son found the richness a tad overwhelming and the squid slightly tougher than anticipated, I enjoyed them thoroughly. The Spicy Tuna Rolls were the star of our meal. Perfectly balanced in rice and fish, with a just-right drizzle of sauce, they were a unanimous hit. Regrettably, we couldn't finish it all, but the leftovers promised a delightful meal for my wife later. In conclusion, Japan Go Sushi in Moncton is a splendid choice for sushi lovers. With its excellent food, amiable service, and reasonable pricing, it has quickly become a favored spot for me. Despite my son's minor reservations about the richness of some dishes, he too relished the experience. Japan Go Sushi is a must-visit for anyone seeking a cozy, authentic sushi dining experience in Moncton.

I wrote this a year ago (go below for updated version): I love the ramen at JapanGo, it's tasty, a nice portion and deliciously spicy (seriously gotta try the spicy one, but then again I'm a lover of spicy food haha so maybe keep it simple if you are not used to) and the ambiance here is always calm and relaxed. I have been at this place a couple of times for either dinner or lunch and it never disappoints. A great ramen for sure and the staff is always friendly. What you see in my photos is the chicken ramen and the veggie ramen, and a little snap shot of the inside of the restaurant, but in a nice weather day my husband and I enjoy sitting in their patio. Also worth mentioning their sushi is DELICIOUS, the fried sushi is my favorite and I have found is one of the cheaper ones in town. One roll of my favorite avocado cucumber sushi is about 6 bucks for an eighth-piece roll and two bucks more if you want it fried. I recommend this place for sure! 2023 review: I have gone back a few times since my first review, including last week and sadly I have been greatly disappointed more than once. The menu changed and the ramen now is just the ONE type (with pork). That would be fine but what's terrible is that, both my last two times, I have gotten a pork piece that is almost all fat and no meat. The ramen is still tasty but the quality has gone down for sure. Less veggies/meat and more noodles, too much noodles. And the pork is still tasty but what's the point if you can't eat it because is mostly a PURE fat piece. It is a shame, I liked this place so much. Their fried sushi is STILL awesome, I love the avocado deep fried roll. So if you are going for this, definitely go back!! But I do NOT recommend the ramen anymore. The photos are old, I forgot to take a photo of the fatty pork ramen.
