Overall, the impression of the establishment is good, thanks to its modern interior. The size of the venue is impressive, with two floors. The first floor has VIP tables and a small open area, while the second floor features a large open space with a big bar and an open kitchen. If you don't like it when it's noisy, the second floor is not for you, and if you want to have a conversation, it's not ideal either 😅
The menu is excellent, but there is a lack of non-alcoholic beverages. There were only two sweet cocktails in the main menu, which is not great for such a restaurant. We ordered risotto and pepperoni pizza, and both dishes were very tasty and lived up to our expectations.
As for the downsides of the evening, the unexpected letdown was the waitress who served our table. When I asked for non-alcoholic wine, the waitress reacted as if she didn't know it existed. Then I asked her about the non-alcoholic drink options since there were only two cocktails listed in the main menu. However, she pointed to the same cocktails and said that was all they had. It turned out they had coffee as well, but unfortunately, no one informed me about it when I asked for non-alcoholic options. And when I asked if they had tiramisu, she didn't respond and just said she would better bring me a dessert menu (which didn't include tiramisu). There was a small incident with our drink, and the manager came to our table and said they would replace it. However, the waitress approached us after about 10 minutes and asked if we wanted to replace it with the same drink or another one, which confused us because the manager had already told us they would replace it with the same one and bring it soon. In the end, after those 10 minutes, we had to wait for another 10-15 minutes. She didn't even smile much, which was very strange. I haven't experienced something like this before.
Overall, such service is not acceptable, and it spoils the positive impression of the restaurant. I came to the restaurant with a smile and in a good mood, but I left in a bad mood on my birthday.
However, the rest of the staff seemed very pleasant and friendly. Therefore, overall, I...
Read moreI recently placed my first order with Gusto's for a cake and, unfortunately, it will be my last. I called on Friday at 5 PM - 48 hours before I needed the cake for a Sunday event, as stated in their policy. The first staff member I spoke to was unsure if the cake would be ready in time and repeatedly said things like “it should be ready,” which was concerning given that I needed a firm confirmation. After some back and forth, she finally confirmed that it would be ready and transferred me to someone else for payment.
However, the second person I spoke to was completely unaware of the situation and also unsure if the cake could be ready for Sunday. When I asked her to please confirm with someone, she stayed on the line then later said "Yes it will be ready" without actually checking. She also gave conflicting information about how to pay—initially saying I would pay online, then suddenly asking for my credit card details and telling me the cost was $80 without providing any details or answering my question about if it would be ready Sunday. At that point, I gave my card information just to wrap up what had already been a frustrating 30-minute call.
When my brother went to pick up the cake, he was told the amount charged was incorrect and that he needed to pay the full 99$ as the incorrect amount was charged. This was incredibly frustrating, as I had been explicitly told $80, and that’s what was charged to my card on Friday. The manager insisted on charging the higher amount, despite the mistake being on their end. After some back and forth, they finally agreed to let my brother leave with the cake for the originally quoted price.
Overall, this was an unnecessarily stressful and disorganized experience. On top of that, the cake itself was underwhelming—not worth the $80, let alone the $99 they originally intended to charge. Also, not everyone can afford to wait several days for a refund of 80$ and then be charged again 99$ because of a company’s error.
I won’t be returning and cannot recommend Gusto based on...
Read moreIt breaks my heart to write this review as I have been to your restaurant many times for work meetings and parties but last night we went to Gusto’s to celebrate a retirement of a co worker and the service was absolutely terrible. The service staff were friendly. First off it took 2 weeks of calling and leaving messages for the manager to call me back to book for a large party (over 16 people) as you cannot do this online. We arrived at the restaurant at 5:30 and they took our drink orders. The drinks came shortly after. After that things kinda fell apart. It started to get really loud…like yelling at each other over the table loud. They didn’t come take our order till after 7:00( once we approached them) and took the appetizer, main course and new drinks orders at the same time. The appetizers arrived after 8 and our party at a different table was well onto their main course by then. Our table the main courses came closer to 9, a couple people didn’t get their drinks and shortly after the main course came. We ordered desserts at this time ( to go) Those who ordered desserts waited 30mins 9:40pm and had to approach a server to inquire about them. They brought them to as we walked out the door. I did provide a 20% gratuity but I really debated. But since the service is usually good I did. Considering we frequent Gustos for most of our work related meetings and the service is usually pretty good I am assuming this was a one off. But we were really disappointed start to...
