I had probably one of my most upsetting dining experiences at Café Cherrier this afternoon and I’m extremely disappointed with how the situation was handled. I was sitting on the terrace enjoying the scenery and my food when a camerawoman (who came out from nowhere) started leaning over my table to “get her shot”. She then aggressively yelled at me to get out of her way-it was loud and extremely rude. Without asking me if this was okay, or forewarning me that the camerawoman needed my table, my belongings and my meal were moved without consent to a table in the corner. My purse was left behind. I had notified servers that my purse was still sitting in the chair and I had to wait until it was returned to me.
The manner that this occurred was abrupt, aggressive, and honestly shocking.
I know the servers probably didn’t have control over the woman who was filming, but how the situation was handled was extremely problematic. I received a very dismissive apology for the and my glass of wine was compensated. However, this brusque interaction ruined my dining experience. I did not appreciate being yelled at to move in front of a crowded restaurant by some strange woman with a camera. Moreover, if the staff had been aware of the shooting, I should have been forewarned beforehand that I would need to move, not aggressively jostled to a new place. If I had been asked politely before this happened, I would have of course obliged. Oddly enough, I never even received an explanation for the camerawoman in my space when I asked. I asked to speak to a manager about the situation, and was told that this was not possible.
I think what makes the situation worse is I genuinely believe staff would have been more apologetic if I had not been a young woman Black woman dining alone.
I will not be returning to this...

If you’re considering this restaurant but also looking at other options I would suggest going elsewhere. If you’re in a bind and just want some french food, I would say it’s an alright choice.
We came here last minute as was surprised we were able to make a reservation for 8 for Saturday evening.
Some of us had the table d’hote while others ordered a la a carte. The overall consensus was the food seemed a bit underwhelming, from the appetizers like the tomato soup, onion soup, salmon gravlax, the dishes were alright nothing special. As for the mains some had the fish of the day, others the steak and some had the bone marrow, we all agreed that the taste was alright. When it came time to for dessert it was more of the same the cakes and tarts were just average.
As for the service, it was the weakest element of the night, from missing desserts to bringing us dishes or coffees we didn’t order, it just seemed like a big mess. And to top it off our waiter poured the sauce on the dish onto the table without noticing. It was a...
Read moreWriting this review as soon as I walked out of the restaurant. As a tourist, I never enter a restaurant unless I see the reviews which help me prepare myself for what to expect. I did not do that here unfortunately. I walked in because I liked the ambiance. I ordered a raspberry tart. Within 10-15 mins it was brought to us. The plate was covered in grease stains (please zoom in on the picture to see it). I did not complain, asked for the bill and left $15 cash. The waitress pointed it out to the bartender who reprimanded us for not leaving a tip, holding us in contempt. I pointed out the grease covered plate and from his expressions, it seemed obvious that he didn’t care or thought it was true. So, this picture is dedicated to the management of this restaurant. Provide a good service and then have the audacity to DEMAND a tip. Bad places have bad ratings...
