Nice (small) museum, they had an interesting exhibition on a Black Montrealer and the history of Black Quebecers. The director was there and he explained the exhibit and the space to us. They are currently expanding with two more rooms that should open in Feb 2023, I look forward to seeing how they curate the space once they have more to work with. They currently have a fairly substantial amount of permanent African art, for a Museum of their size, but not enough room to really showcase it. Read moreSmall but well-thought-out museum, they have a historically interesting exhibition on African art mostly from central and West Africa on a Black Montrealer and the history of Black Quebecers. They have recently added two rooms with art exhibitions. The space is well curated. There is also a coffee/bar shop within The staff were very friendly and helpful in explaining the mission and origin of the museum. On Thursday there is a poetry/music event.
