I like trying all the great coffee that montreal has to offer, I was intrigued and found a spot just outside. I tried the cortado and flat white.
For. 6$ flat white i expected a little more love. The milk was just heated there wasn’t any micromousse, and when I asked about it I was told that only lattes have microfoam.
I must admit it has great atmosphere, I entered to try the coffee, but I was disappointed by the coffee and by the service.
polite just surprised with shortness of the
There is magic to good microfoam it changes the composition of a coffe - when I took the top off it just looked like heated up milk with coffee and for that I don’t need to pay 6$.
I have also worked as a barista. I was surprised to have been responded like that.
Anyways here’s what I found maybe the barista can find it useful.
“A flat white is a coffee drink consisting of espresso with microfoam (steamed milk with small, fine bubbles and a glossy or velvety consistency). It generally has a higher proportion of espresso to milk than a caffè latte, and a thinner layer of microfoam than a cappuccino”
I didn’t try the food or by vinyl, but very nicely decorated it does have great atmosphere....

Learned more about coffee in this last year thanks to one especially astute young barista. They have sneakerhead popups usually every month, and usually DJs on the weekend. If you are a local (or visiting!) DJ and want to play a casual set there, you should get in contact with the owners. Only wish the opening hours ran much later because the community does not have a lot of non-resto/bar spaces... though last year the place had a series of stand-up comedy nights. Community orgs could inquire about hosting...
Read morePhenomenal coffee served by unpretentious staff in a really chill atmosphere. The music style is unmatched to anything else in Montreal - the owner, Jojo, is a well known DJ/music director in the Montreal scene and his love and passion for music truly comes out in this place. One of the few places in Montreal that spins vinyl, which really sets the tone for the place. If you’re into music, streetwear, sneakers or just coffee, this is absolutely a place to check out. As an FYI, the restaurant next door, Junior, is affiliated to the cafe and the chill vibes of this place carry over next door with authentic Filipino cuisine....
