Canadian Roasting Society, Dreamy Cafe. — Restaurant in Montreal

After moving to Canada, I have been exploring many delicious cafes to find my favorite coffee shop. I discovered two places, and one of them is this cafe. The baristas are always friendly, and of course, the coffee is amazing. Today, I was especially touched.

I was feeling down and wanted a warm cup of coffee under the sunshine, so I revisited this place after a long time. I ordered Chocolate Pie ,two Americanos, but my card was declined. Oh my God! When I said I would do an e-transfer, the barista smiled and said he would cover it and told me come back again.

I couldn’t believe it! I’ve never met such a kind barista in Canada. I feel blessed, and now we are enjoying a wonderful coffee time.

Another story is that when my husband visited this cafe before, he asked about another coffee flavor and received a free cup. I want to give the highest score for this barista’s service mindset. His name is Jorge. If you come here, look for Jorge( little long dark brown hair and hansome with big eyes). You will find great joy in his smile and service!

Came here on the weekend to pick up some coffee and get some fresh pastries (Dreamy event). The space is cool, warehouse like. There are soooo many coffees to choose from 🤤, I'll be stopping by often to make my way through them. When I was on the step ladder browsing the coffees, I felt like Belle from Beauty and the Beast on the library ladder, but coffee edition (I wish there was a library ladder!), I might have sang as well.

Staff was nice and helpful, if they weren't sure about something they'd go and find out right away.

I'm not sure if this is the case for all of them but as a bonus, the bag I picked up was a 3$ cheaper here than the coffee roaster's website since it's directly from the "source" so you also save some! Most of the bags I saw had roast dates though not all unfortunately. Most of the roast dates I noted were from about 1-2 weeks before so it's had some time to rest and ready for espresso...

I was a little underwhelmed with this cafe. Service was inadequate! The Asian girl working today in the orange shirt was not pleasant and made us feel unwelcome.

They roast a variety of beans but do not serve any pour-over. We requested a pour over, but they advised a filter, which is not the same. Filters, unlike pour overs, do not enable the coffee's flavor to come through. They only offer one espresso bean, and it was mediocre.

It is a nice roasting facility with a variety of bean options, but...
