Wow...I wish I could give this restaurant a zero....before I placed the order with Uber Eats called Caribbean Food Factory and a woman answered the phone. I asked if this was a Jamaican restaurant she never answered and put another woman on the phone. I asked again if the restaurant served Jamaican food that I wanted Escovich fish...the second woman then hands the phone to a man and I could hear the 2 women laughing in the background. I proceeded to ask the man if the restaurant was Jamaican he said yes it is. I asked if he could Escovich the Red Snapper. He says to me for you I can do it but it will take time because I have to prepare it from scratch. He says all I have prepared now is Stew Fish. I can prepare the Escovich fish but it will take 45 minutes. I said that’s ok I can wait. I confirmed with him that the fish came with red beans and rice, (plantings...the way it was spelled on the menu), and dumplings. On the Uber Eats app... the price said $16.99. While placing the order someone from the restaurant went into the Uber Eats app and changed the price to $11.99. My final bill was $18.37. I didn’t think anything about the price change because the man told me he only had small red snapper so I thought I would just receive a smaller portion. My order was late and when I opened it to my surprise there were two pieces of dried fish that was not Escoviched. The man lied to me just to get the sale. I called the restaurant a woman answered I explained who I was and asked where the rice, dumplings and plantings were that I ordered with my fish. The woman in a very rude tone said you paid for fish only. She then says you spoke with the chef. I said yes I did speak with the chef in great lengths and discussed that the fish came with rice, plantings and dumplings. She then states you only paid for the fish. Really...I paid $18.37 for fish and nothing else. I say to her why would I just pay for fish. I asked how I could get my money back. With her ugly attitude she says contact Uber Eats all we do is the cooking...I wish I had read the reviews before I placed an order STAY AWAY FROM THIS restaurant. I threw the fish in the trash. Good news Uber Eats refunded my money immediately....Thank you so much Uber Eats for investigating my complaint and...
Read moreI feel compelled to write this review based on the interaction I had post dining experience. This past weekend, I attended an event where I ordered dinner. I was looking forward to eating at this establishment as I had never eaten there before. I was planning to return and recommend it...if it was good. I arrived at the event on time and figured food would be served one hour after starting. No... The main meal was served 3 1/2 hours later and when it came it was not what I ordered. No water was served at the tables. When it came to the food I received, the chicken was well seasoned and the fried dumpling was fried fresh. The rice and plantain was dry. Most guests received their meals 3 hours later than event start time although they had arrived early. I decided to go back and ask about what might have occurred that affected the lack of service. The person whom I spoke with was not in any way willing to admit error nor were they in the right mind to be communicating with customers. They contended that they were not obliged to serve guests tap water as the guests should have brought their own water. They also said that they needed to be told when to serve dinner although it was discussed with them before hand what time dinner was to be served. They served the dinner after the event was supposed to have ended. I offered several suggestions to improve the service, however the person rudely said that they did not need to change and said, "Who are you anyway. I don't need to talk to you." I explained that I am a customer and that as you are running a business you have to be professional. It would be better to send the client your policies for specific events and rentals and what services are provided." It was an in house event. As a manager, it was their responsibility to ensure that their guests were well served. From a lack of cutlery to glassware to food to basic customer service, this manager had no shame. I will never return. I will never recommend this business. It's unfortunate because the business owner works very hard, however they are leaving all their hard work to a person who may not appreciate nor recognise the sacrifices made to establish and keep a...
Read moreWe got to the restaurant before noon. There was no customers in the restaurant when we arrived. After being ignored for 10/15 mins. He finally came out and asked what we would like. We wanted two chicken roti. He said we could not have it because the curry chicken wasn't ready yet. I asked for ackee and salt fish with fry dumplings. He said he can't give us the fry dumplings. He said they can give us boiled dumplings instead. I said ok. I can't remember what excuse he gave to my husband why he couldn't get what he wanted. After over an hour waiting for our take out. I asked if we could just get the drinks that we wanted because we have been waiting over an hour and we had a long drive ahead of us. The owner immediately got angry and said if we knew how hard it is to get staff out of their bed to come to work on a Sunday. He said he left the restaurant 3am this morning and he is back working hard. We weren't disputing his hard work. 8 or 9 people came in after us and they all got served and left before we were acknowledged or served. The owner proceeded to say that he is not giving us the drinks we wanted and we can leave. The owner has zero customer service skills. He desperately need to hire more staff. He also need to take a class in customer service skills. No apologies were given for the extra long wait times. As we were walking out of the restaurant he shouted that some people need to learn patience. Not a good look for the restaurant and a very bad look for him. Very disappointed. We spent $100 at this restaurant on Friday. We will never be back. I will not be recommending this restaurant to...
