5-Star Food, 1-Star Welcome: READ THIS Before Booking!
What an incredibly mixed experience at Coco Disco. I'm truly torn because the food is legitimately delicious, but our initial treatment at the door was completely unacceptable.
The Booking & Welcome (1/5 Stars): We booked a table for 3 people well over a month in advance. We arrived exactly on time (8:30 PM), only to be offered a tiny, cramped table clearly designed for two, with a third chair awkwardly squeezed in. When we politely declined, the initial hostess clearly lied about a system error, despite our confirmation showing 3 guests on their screen. Her attitude made us feel like a major inconvenience for simply expecting the table we reserved. They eventually shuffled patrons, forcing three people at the bar to move to the tiny 2-person table so that we could sit at the bar instead. It was uncomfortable and entirely mishandled.
The Comeback (5/5 Stars): Once we were seated at the bar, everything changed. A massive shout-out to the bartender and our new waitress! They immediately acknowledged the previous issues, apologized, and completely reset the tone. The service was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely friendly—they were true professionals and absolute stars.
The Food (5/5 Stars): The positive side is the kitchen is a powerhouse. We opted for the 4-course MTL À TABLE fixed menu ($50 + tax), and every single course was a hit. The value here is arguably the best in the city for this level of quality. I tried the caviar, arancini, and the pasta of the day, all of which were superb, and the portions were very generous. The cocktails were also excellent. All of us agreed: the meal was five-star dining.
Overall Verdict: Go to Coco Disco for the incredible food, amazing cocktails, and the lively energy, but be prepared for potential chaos or difficulty with seating if you book a table. Once you are settled and start dealing with the bar or serving staff, the service and the dining experience will...
Read moreI was supposed to have a special 5-course dining experience at this restaurant — tickets were sold in advance through a special $30 offer. But on the actual night, when we were about to leave, they suddenly told us the total was $90 per person! A real scam — and honestly, the experience was nowhere near worth $90.
The servers were incredibly pushy about selling cocktails — they came to our table multiple times insisting that we order drinks, to the point it became extremely uncomfortable. I haven’t seen that level of pressure even in low-end restaurants.
To make things worse, out of the “five courses,” one was completely forgotten! And when we mentioned it, they just said, “Oh, sorry, we don’t have it anymore.” Can you believe that?
My boyfriend ordered a cocktail and they brought the wrong one, and I ordered wine — the second pour was clearly smaller than the first.
Overall, this place turned what was supposed to be a special evening into a complete...
Read moreWe were unfortunately very disappointed. The ambiance and concept is very nice, but it did not live up to the looks. We tried 4 cocktails (two of them were well balanced and with great richness and flavoring in part to its well done fat washing, but the Bee-geez and mirepoix were not well balanced with monotonic flavoring where the bitterness overtook everything else). Food was he biggest let down unfortunately, the caviar was served with pringles (I expected in house chips in the pringles container, but they were in fact simple pringles with did not complement the flavor of the caviar). The lemon pasta was the most disappointing. In a city with incredible Italian restaurants, properly cooked pasta is a must. Here the pasta was overcooks with bland flavoring. Arancini were good, but not exceptional. Niçois salad was fine but not outstanding. Overall the cocktail selection might be worth trying, but would not recommend...
