Duluth Cuisine Indienne — Restaurant in Montreal

I want to be entirely honest with my review. I ordered a meal to pay in cash and there were at least 3 different people at the cash trying to calculate my change. Not the worst experience but a bit shocking I guess?

Otherwise they were all incredibly kind and I really didnt mind very much, but maybe just having an easy calculator on hand or better training with the cash register?

I ordered take out, so I dont have much to say about being in the establishment really as I wasnt to focused on the decor etc.

Now for the food. I will preface this by saying I was born and raised in the Caribbean in a country with a strong indian population, so I've grown up eating curry etc. The samosa I got with my combo was delightful. No complaints at all, i would gladly return to order those. Well seasoned filling, perfectly crisp, delightful.

Unfortunately i cant say the same for the channa masala (chickpea) and the chicken curry. These were both devastatingly sweet. I legitimately couldnt manage to finish either dish. There was truly a depth of spice to it that was there, but the sweetness just completely overwhelmed that and became the main taste.

I'm not sure if this is meant to appeal more to the canadian palette or what. But unfortunately it was a very upsetting waste of food and funds that I dont have much of to spare...

In conclusion, if you're like me and dont like your indian food too sweet, I'd stay away, though the samosas are great if you're looking for...

Let me paint a picture: It's 12:30, you've been out drinking with your friends and suddenly you crave Indian food. We find this place since a lot of other places were closed and for some reason it has 4+ stars. We ordered the Lamb Korma and the Butter Chicken. The Lamb Korma was a yellow colour, first time ive ever seen Lamb Korma this colour and somehow tasted extremely sweet (HOW?!?) and the Lamb was DEFINITELY not Lamb, tasted like mutton or some other critter on this earth. The Butter Chicken was actually Chicken thankfully (praise the lord) but that was also sweet? I've had Indian food many many times prior to this so i'm not new to it, but oh my god this place was unusually bad. For your own sake just stay away from this place because god knows what goes...

I ordered $30.00 of food online,it was confirmed, gave me a specific time to pick up. I went to pick up 5 mins before said time and was rudely told that there is no order, I didn't quite hear them, thought they meant it wasn't ready yet and sat down to wait. A few minutes later I was asked rudely to leave, there is no order.....What kind of service is this? First, no order made when it was confirmed, then no offer to make me food when the order wasn't made, then being asked to leave. THIS IS A RESTAURANT AND THEY OFFER FOOD, DONT THEY? NO FOOD OFFERED,NO APOLOGY, NO SERVICE GIVEN. Will never go back and will tell my friends to not go...
