I was very disappointed. Being in Montréal where there are many great vegan places, and great vegan options at regular places, and considering somebody local recommended this place to me, and also considering how many good reviews i read, I had really high expectations🥲 However, I was super disappointed. I have had better vegan donuts in Windsor and the GTA and StCatherine’s. The jelly filled donut had like 1 tablespoon of jelly in it. When we bite into a filled doughnut, I think we all want it to burst out with filling. The plain donuts and sugarcoated donuts and glazed donuts have too much dough and not enough flavour to eat the whole doughnut to be satisfied with each bite. I had to dip them in oat/soy milk so that I could eat the whole thing. It’s sort of like eating a loaf of bread with nothing else. I felt like I was eating a loaf of sweet bread, and not delicious sweet bread like T&T.
I was also really dissatisfied with the fact that I can’t see what vegan flavours are available on Uber Eats or doordash. I’m not sure who’s in charge of updating DoorDash and Uber eats but, it should definitely list flavours and not just have a random box be made for you.
But other than looking at photographs and guessing what some flavours were and not knowing what was vegan and what wasn’t, there was no way for me to find out flavours
But the texture of these donuts was better than other vegan donuts I have had in Toronto. I just think that overall, the vegan doughnuts were very unbalanced and not thoroughly planned out. Maybe it’s worth it to go there for the regular doughnuts and other desserts.
PS If there even are other vegan desserts at this place, I can’t even tell because it’s not listed...
Read moreI’ve always loved their donuts, but my last visit really left a bad taste in my mouth. A few weeks ago, I stopped by the café and walked up to the counter only to be completely ignored for a full seven minutes. There was no one in line; the previous customer had already paid and sat down.
I understand being busy, but basic customer service isn’t that hard. As a paying customer, a simple acknowledgment goes a long way. The cashier, who had light colored hair and glasses, didn’t greet me or even say “I’ll be with you in a minute.” She just continued packing orders without a word. None of the other employees said anything either they all avoided eye contact.
Out of frustration, I even pulled out my phone and timed how long it would take for someone to acknowledge me. Only after finishing the previous order did the cashier finally speak to me.
If you can’t show basic manners or respect toward customers, you shouldn’t be working in customer service. There are plenty of people who would happily do that job with a better attitude. The owners should know their staff’s behavior is driving away loyal customers. I’ve been coming here for a long time, but after this experience, I’ll be taking my...
Read moreLocation: In the Southwest, in a spot you wouldn't expect to find a doughnut shop. I walked over so can't confirm 100% that there is street parking available - I think there might be but not on de Courcelle.
The place: It's a small storefront really, with a large kitchen at the back. I don't recall if there's any seating indoors (sorry, I was very focused on using the restroom and distracted by the smell of doughnuts). There are two picnic tables outside, though.
The goods: First off, I am not a doughnut person. The last time I ate a doughnut was in NYC, in July 2016. I remember this because it was an awesome doughnut. Anyway, I'd been out taking photos for a few hours and I was hungry. I was in the area - these guys were there. I decided to go with the maple-bacon doughnut. It was awesome. There's not much more I can say about that other than, go buy one and stuff your face. They had several other flavors so I guess I'll have to go back to do some taste testing. The doughnuts were fresh and TASTY!
Service: OK
Price point: I can't remember. It took me too long to...
