No photos as there are plenty and would not add value. Atmosphere. Super cool and clean. Washrooms are lovely and well kept though today’s the late evening they were almost out of hand towels. So make sure to check towels and t paper before “committing”. Service. People are very friendly and try to accommodate even thought the place was jammed packed they did a decent job keeping up with the demand. Food. Fresh. Well plated. Portions for price were slightly smaller but at a place like this it’s really is not what it’s all about. Food was tasty especially the chops. Burrata was an excellent. Their focaccia was superb and wondered if they make it fresh themselves it was soo good. Fyi their Sunday dessert was lovely. Alcohol. Great selection of mixed drinks and well prepared. A little on the pricey side but again the type of crowd that comes here is not disturbed by pricing. Their beer selection was nice. I hade an Italian 0% beer and it was surprisingly nice. Good selection of imported.
All in all the vibe is great - the music (late night club like scene) was too loud as it was nearly impossible to hear the person immediately next to you even if speaking loudly. I don’t k is why they insist on doing this and think this is the one main flaw to the late night cool club big spender crowd vibe. It’s ok to have the music at a level where need not speak at the top of their vocal cords and still barely hear each other. I found lots of people almost using hand signals and nothing replies with an assumed understanding that it’s too loud to speak properly just across the table. When I arrived back home I found my throat was hurting from having to speak so loud and to so long.
So all in all a cool place.
If you’re a tourist and want to see what Montreal nightlife and dining are like in one establishment- this is thee place to go to. Just make sure you’re not price conscious. You’ll have fun, you’ll drink and eat to your hearts content. You’ll likely meet new people as all seem to be openly friendly - especially the single ladies who seem to accept random invitations to join other tables. I’ve never seen this before at this level and found it to be quite entertaining let alone a social psychological experiment of sorts at the same time.
Ok so bottom like. Yes. Go and annoy you shan’t regret investing your time nor money...
Read moreTERRIBLE food. TERRIBLE smell. TERRIBLE service. I went here on July 11th with a group of 6 of us.
First off, it smells horrible. The trash is right in the back - you can see it from the seating area. Every 5 minutes you get the most disgusting draft of trash you’ll ever smell that passes by you. It ruins your meal. Absolutely disgusting.
To begin, we ordered drinks. The drinks took forever. And for the rest of the meal whenever we wanted more, it took even longer. The waiter wouldn’t come back.
My friend asked for a food recommendation. The waiter said the steak is the best there. My buddy ordered the steak and it just looked terrible. Was definitely not cooked properly. Looked grey. He tried it and it was terrible. The waiter came over and asked about the steak and he said to him “it tastes terrible”.
The waiter told us that he would take care of it and was going to take it off the bill and asked if he wanted something else. We were in a rush so he didn’t order anything else because the food took over 45 minutes. About 20 minutes later the waiter came over with tequila shots for the group and apologized about the steak that my friend didn’t like and didn’t eat because it was disguising.
Bill comes over, the steak was NOT removed. Seriously? You can’t take a small loss to get our business again when our bill is nearly 10x the price of that 1 steak? You’re going to stiff us on a terrible steak and try to fix it with shots we didn’t want? Nobody even took theirs. Will absolutely never be coming back here. Neither will any of the group. Hope it was worth saving the price of that...
Read moreOur first impression upon walking in was that the decor and ambience were beautiful. There were plenty of staff and we were served immediately. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and recommended beautiful wines for each of us as we each wanted, something different (two rosé, a red and a white). We started by sharing a burrata and an endive salad…both delicious along with the bread that was brought to our table. I ordered the lobster stuffed pasta and was extremely disappointed of the small portion that was served to me. My husband ordered the Bolognese and could not finish his portion because it was so large. As our evening progressed, the noise level in the restaurant got louder, and the music too. Towards the end of our evening, our table could not even carry on a conversation anymore because of the noise level. The biggest disappointment of the evening was that we were seated underneath a leaky pipe that was dripping on 3 out of the 4 people sitting at the table. We had to move our table 3 or 4 times to avoid getting dripped on. After making our first complaint, the staff came out to wipe down the condensation off the pipes. However that did not solve the issue. On our second complaint and our shirts getting wet with all the drips they offered us a complementary dessert and shots. It was a nice gesture, but still soured our experience at the restaurant. We should have been moved to a better table. Even thought the food was delicious, our night was soured by the lack of customer care with the water dripping on us all evening and the...
