So happy I accidentally stumbled upon this chic and adorable little place near the old port, away from the touristy area. It is clean, its interiors are well designed. It has a high ceiling, the frontage has all glass windows which brings in light and an airiness that makes dining here a pleasure. Every part of the restaurant looks like you’re in a nice cosy place in Marrakech with decor that transports you to another land without leaving Montreal.
The service is attentive, friendly and welcoming. The guy was very helpful in recommending and explaining the different flavours to help me make my choice.
I selected the Marrakech Salad which was surprisingly delicious. It had saffron chicken, green beans, cherry tomatoes, parsley, carrots, chickpeas with cumin, Harissa vinaigrette and more items which made eating a salad pretty exciting.
The portions are huge (1 order was good for 2 people) and the prices are more than reasonable.
A definite YES when I return for a visit...
Read moreWhat a wonderful spot for lunch! Cute decor and very conveniently located near the Square Victoria metro, so you can visit even on snowy days such as today. My friend and I started with appetizers of hummus and baba ghanoush, which came with some veggies for dipping and crisp pita chips. We loved that the hummus wasn't oily and the baba ghanoush had a brightness to it, which complemented the smokiness. Then we dug into our bowls; I had a salade niçoise and my buddy had the salmon tzaziki. I loved the salad! The tuna was a big portion, and not of cheap quality. There was a nicely hard-boiled egg and a selection of veggies, plus a great vinaigrette to top it all off. I love a good salad, and this was a great salad. The salmon came with a generous portion of tangy tzaziki, roasted vegetables, and a bed of quinoa. It was quickly devoured and declared to be excellent! I would happily return any day to try their other selections, they all looked and...
Read moreSalad was delicious and although the falafel was far too salty for my taste the freshness and authenticity make up for it. I recommend trying this place for yourself.
A couple service issues. Order at counter, served to table so there's service to the extent of staff doing what seems helpful. But not a full service restaurant. Coffee was brought without sugar/cream so I asked for sugar. I was brought a sugar bowl with a tiny scoop spoon in it 🥣 that seemed was for behind-the-counter use and not intended for stirring a beverage. May not have been but how do I know if the tiny spoon wasn't used in another beverage and not replaced. Felt unhygienic using it to stir my coffee. Water was offered shortly after the food was served and because of the salty falafel I looked forward to some water. The employee promptly forgot about the water and sat down to eat as it was near closing time 🙄. These are...
