Honest Review Cons : - Service is horrible I do agree. They often forget about you, and it's a pain finding your server. They always look confused. The management kinda look like chaos. Waiting time is insanely too long for simple drinks, same for food. - You often get confused between the busboy and the server, since, visually, there is no clothing difference. Problem is they don't really talk to each other. They don't really check on you often, so you are always ending up asking a random server to tell your server your additional order. Sometimes your server pop in, asking you if you want something but you don't know if is colleague did talked to him or not, so everyone is confused. It's a pain. - Every drink is way overpriced and, you guess it, always overfilled with ice. But like... Way too expensive for what it is. Probably was my biggest turn off. Why are we paying that much for a simple beer? - You don't really go there for the food. Choices are limited and overpriced as well. Snack is fine, I mean they are snacks, but don't get excited, nothing really to see here. Presentation is there, but quality isn't. If you want to eat, go grab a bite elsewhere after or before. - The servers looks are a bit random. There is no clothing rules for them. It's not really an issue, but don't be surprised if your server look cool and trendy, and is colleague is wearing an old cannabis t-shirt saying "I love weed" (real fact from today). I mean, it's fine, but there is a limit for a professional institution. Pros : - On the other hand, probably the prettiest terrace of Montreal. Reason for it is the clientèle that is very different from most of the other terrace (specially in old port). It's calm, fun, cute, not crowded, fill with "normal people", good chill or festive music at perfect volume (not too loud so you can easily talk but not too quiet so you get the ambiance vibe). There is no stress, a perfect place to chill for a long or a short period under the sun. People go there to relax and chill, not to party and show that they have cash. - You need to try their amazing frozen limonade. Best 4$ ever spent. Perfect ratio between cheap price, amazing taste, and you can't be broke after few of them. Bonus : Feeling boozy? Add a rhum or gin shot in it, you can thank me later - The location is just wow. You get a chill vibe, with the water on one side, with the little "DIY" building look, small tables, big tables with cushion, small swing chair or you can go on the second floor if you want a better view. Feeling private? There is a spot a bit further from everyone. The location is just perfect. Since its a bit far from the touristic area, it's never overcrowded. - They want to stay away from the typical old Port stereotypes /clientèle (modern, fancy, touristic, expensive and rich). They focus more on a accessibility approach (whoever you are, whatever you wear, just come and chill) - You can even bring your dog to chill with you! They have water bowl for them. Bottom line : Keep the same vibe, fix your staff, lower a bit your prices (or do at least promotion, or 5@7), and you guys deserve the biggest 5 star stamp.

We went today for the first time, we were three people, we walked-in without reservation but they accommodated us quickly. We placed a decently size order of drinks and different plates, after 30 minutes of waiting we had nothing on our table. In the meantime we saw people coming in after us getting served very quickly. I talked to our server and ask if there was a problem with the order, he seemed surprised and said “I’m gonna check”, 15 more minutes passed, nothing happened and we saw him serving other tables, we felt pretty much ignored. We tried again with a different server, we explained the situation and we told her every item of the order that we previously ordered. Again, 15 more minutes passed and nothing, she didn’t check anything and continued serving other tables like nothing happened. At that point we were frustrated and feeling like ghosts, after an hour waiting we decided to leave but not without talking to the hostess. Aside from feeling sorry she did nothing for us and took my number to eventually call and apologize, whatever that means. First and last time that I go to that place. It has great potential but the serving ruined badly for me.

I have no idea why this place has such a low rating - we had an amazing lunch here just recently! Service was excellent, food tasted wonderful and came out fast, the atmosphere was awesome on a sunny summer day (we sat outside), and we were allowed to bring our dog to the restaurant, which was very nice!! Prices were actually quite reasonable (coming from someone from the US), and we got a whole bunch of different things from their new menu. A great non-alcoholic cocktail, salmon tartare, chorizo with chimichurri, burrata caprese salad with strawberries, truffle fries, fresh focaccia bread, and shrimp ceviche - everything was super good! All the food tasted fresh, and our favorites were the chorizo and the burrata caprese salad. Honestly, this seems like one of the places you can get whatever you want and still be very happy with your meal. It is a tapas-style restaurant, so feel free to order a few different things and try something unique out! You’ll enjoy it!

I'm thrilled to share my wonderful experience at Marché des Éclusiers! From their friendly staff to their delightful menu, it sounds like a place that truly knows how to create a memorable dining experience.

First, let's talk about the food. The beer, wine, and charcuterie platter I enjoyed sound like a perfect combination. Marché des Éclusiers offers a delectable selection of local flavors, curated to please every palate. Whether you're sipping on a refreshing beer or savoring the flavors of the charcuterie, their menu seems to have something for everyone.

The staff's attentiveness to my husky's needs is heartwarming. It's wonderful to hear that they made sure our furry friend had enough water and created a pet-friendly atmosphere. Their friendly and accommodating approach towards both their human and canine guests speaks volumes about their commitment to exceptional service.

A special mention goes to Guillaume, the manager, for his professionalism. A skilled manager can truly elevate the overall dining experience, and it sounds like Guillaume excelled in this regard. His dedication to ensuring customer satisfaction likely contributed to the positive atmosphere and the smooth running of the establishment.

And let's not forget the location! The view of the Lachine Canal next to Montreal's Old Port adds a touch of charm and tranquility to your dining experience. It's a lovely backdrop that enhances the ambiance and makes for a memorable setting.

Overall, it seems like Marché des Éclusiers is a hidden gem, combining delectable food, pet-friendly hospitality, and a picturesque location. Whether you're enjoying a drink, savoring the flavors of their charcuterie platter, or simply admiring the view, this restaurant has all the ingredients for a...

FALSE ADVERTISING!!!! So I had my all time most horrible excuse from a manager and absolutely miserable service from a waitress! To start: The entire group I went with(4 of us) are burratta lovers, eat it all the time, very familiar not only with the cheese but its cost! 💲 Burratta is roughly 50% more expensive than mozzarella due to increased product usage and manual labor to create it. We ordered a $55 dollar pitcher of Passion fruit maghito(pure syrup no passion fruit whatsoever), and two BURRATTA pizzas for $22 each. Took forever for drinks and even longer for pizza! We finally get the drinks and pizza, and the entire time we’re eating the pizza were are telling each “this is not burratta, this is mozzarella”. It’s stretched and tasted like mozzarella. Burratta absolutely does not stretch! We finally tell our waitress this is not burratta ( and like she was prepared for our concerns) says “the kitchen tol me they prioritized the burrata for the burratta salad” Were like wait, what?! She admitted the pizza had no burrata on it, and apparently the salads they serve took precedence and (most like because it is more obvious to tell the cheese was not burrata on a salad) Long story short we talked to manager, he says “let’s not discuss you didn’t get burrata on your pizza, that’s in the past, I will give you 10% off your meal” We said the difference in cost of mozz and burrata is not the same! He said yes they are! In the end we got 10% off and they got away with what I feel is a crime! Will never go back, managers lie, service was horrible, expensive pitchers have no fruit, just simple syrup sweeteners and fruit syrup! And if you are burrata pizza fan, you won’t be getting what you...
