Location: East of Atwater, on Notre-Dame. The closest subway is Lionel-Groulx (Orange) and it's less than a 10-minute walk from there. Street parking is available - both metered and not. There are certain streets that are not zoned where you can park without paying.
The place: It's on the smaller side but the layout is good. The decor is urban and 'clean', if you will. Very simple, no bells and whistles. I do miss the other location's funky furniture as I think it added charm and a unique style, but what can you do? I do find the lighting to be a little dim. One of my favourite things about Lili & Oli is the music: 80s alternative. LOVE IT.
The goods: I've ordered an almond milk latte both times I've stopped in, and they were both enjoyable.
Service: Well, the barista is still a little surly and smiling is not his forte but again, what can you do. He makes some decent coffee and that's why I go there.
Price point: $4 for the latte - I don't think there is an extra charge for the almond milk but I'm...
Read moreI've been coming him 1-2x a day, for the past 5 days. It's a great local spot to grab a coffee, meet people from the neighbourhood, study, get work done or have a small meeting.
COFFE & TEA: They serve a delicious typical Italian blend espresso. They have milk alternatives (almond, soy , coconut). They offer 8-10 different "Mighty Leaf" teas. Animals: Dogs are allowed in, as long as they are well behaved and on leashes. KIDS & BABIES: There is a toddler friendly corner in the back, which is a popular hangout on Saturday Morning. TO EAT: They offer a variety of muffins (some gluten-free), croissants, bananas bread, grilled cheese, and Vegan bowls (from "Le Kitchen"). You are also allowed to bring your own food from elsewhere. SUMMER: They offer a cold brew, serve authentic iced teas, and have a quaint back porch. Futball/Soccer: if you're a fan, great place to come...
Read moreOMG I love this cafe. 3 big reasons...
1: chocolate banana bread is to die for. It runs out early though. I’ve had the stare-down with people when there’s a long line and only a few slices left.
2: they make their iced coffee using FROZEN COFFEE ICE CUBES. Yessss! Can this just become a standard like everywhere pls?
I’ve mentioned they should make coffee popsicles. No movement yet on the coffee pops. Maybe if enough people mention it, this will happen. You in? Vive la revolution!
3: dogs are allowed to hang out in the cafe. I don’t know if this is technically allowed by the city (it isn’t in other places I’ve lived) but it is AMAZING.
More puppies. More coffee pops. More chocolate banana...
