Craving an unforgettable dining experience? Look no further than Bar Otto in the heart of Montreal! Brace yourself for a journey of flavors that will transport you straight to heaven, leaving your taste buds singing with joy and your heart longing for more. 🌆 I ventured to Bar Otto for a late supper and was greeted with an atmosphere that whispered tales of old-world charm and culinary enchantment. The restaurant's cozy ambiance set the stage for an extraordinary feast that was about to unfold. 🍽️ Let's dive into the stars of the show—the dishes! Prepare your taste buds for an explosion of flavor as I reveal the mouthwatering creations that graced my table. I had the pleasure of savoring the Duck Confit Mazemen—an irresistible blend of ramen noodles, truffle oil, succulent duck, and an avalanche of bonito and sake sauce. With each forkful, my taste buds did a happy dance, rejoicing in the symphony of indulgence. 🌱 But hey, sometimes a little greed is good, right? Indulging my inner fat kid, I couldn't resist the Karaage and the Soft shell crab bao buns. Picture this: Fried Chicken, Japanese style, and fresh yuzu mayonnaise from the magical lands of Japan coming together in a creamy flavor extravaganza. And two pillow like buns embracing mouthwatering tempura soft shell crab topped with a perfect amount of garlic-soy sauce. It was a culinary masterpiece that satisfied my cravings and left me longing for a second helping. 🍷 To elevate my gastronomic adventure, I paired these delightful dishes with one of their signature cocktails. With every sip, my taste buds were treated to the velvety embrace of this exquisite concoction, enhancing the flavors and creating a symphony of pleasure in my mouth. 👉 Don't miss out on the opportunity to embark on a culinary adventure that will tantalize your taste buds and leave you with unforgettable memories. Bar Otto is waiting to welcome you into their world of Japanese Fusion delights. Go ahead, indulge your senses, and let the magic unfold. Highly recommended! 👌👨‍🍳

I was very excited to try the place but the service we got was honestly quite bad. We arrived 15 minutes late to our reservation which we apologized for. The hostess made it seem like we were a no show and basically told us we had an 1h30 to eat and leave right as we came in. The hostess was quite condescending, it felt like they were trying to kick us out. I honestly believe that they thought we weren’t the right clientele for their restaurant or something because the attitude the hostess had right off the bat was very uninviting. The waiter was a bit nicer but it still felt like we were not taken seriously. I appreciate that there were no issues with our order and we didn’t wait to long to receive our meals. This was all very disappointing since ambiance of the restaurant and the food were both AMAZING. For the appetizers, we had the beef tartare and the gindara filet which were both delicious. We then ordered the chef’s choice of sashimi as well as the toro & uni nigiri which tasted very fresh. We topped it off with their dessert which was a delightful passion fruit and mango mousse covered in white chocolate. I honestly wish I could have enjoyed the food more, the service honestly ruined my birthday dinner. We ate very quickly and rushed out to the original otto bar on St-Mathieu.

Pre-pandemic: Amazing staff, meats cooked to perfection, deliciously fresh fish and fantastic desserts to finish the night. Every dish has it's unique flavour and makes you crave for more after the last bite. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu! During pandemic (delivery): Bar Otto is a Japanese restaurant located in the Little Burgundy neighborhood of Montreal, Quebec. On the menu: • Karaage (Japanese fried chicken, Yuzu mayo) • Zuke Maguro (Marinated bluefin tuna, avocado, cherry tomatoes and endives) • Whelk Ceviche (Mango, cilantro, jalapeno, cucumber, edamame and Yuzu dressing) • Nigiri Box (12 Pcs) The Karaage is perfectly crispy, in its golden, dry batter, and is paired with the flavourful Yuzu mayo dip. The marinated bluefin tuna is extra fresh and is mixed with fresh cherry tomatoes and ripe avocados, sitting atop a bed of crunchy endive leaves. Whelk Ceviche, with its unique texture and an array of fresh veggies, and the refreshing Yuzu dressing, make it for a extra fresh spring salad-like dish. The fish in the Nigiri box set were very fresh, flavourful and beautifully presented. Instagram: @bar.ottomtl

Loved the service and the menu looked amazing! Unfortunately the flavours were disappointing... most dishes I tried tasted mellowed down to me. Conceptually and visually great dishes but underwhelming for the palate. Otto Salad: the list of ingredients makes it sound quite out there.. it ended up tasting of just kale dusted with parmesan. The poached egg didn’t do much for it and made it hard to share. That’s too bad because, by the own waitress’ admission, most people order the smaller dishes and share. Karaage: this one really fell flat. The chicken wasn’t seasoned at all. Had to drown it in sauce to get some flavour out of the dish. The side of kale was bulky and didn’t add much to the plate. There was a tiny bit (2 slices) of some picked veggie and it help cut out the fattiness and bring some freshness. More of that would be great! The only sauce that came with it was mayo-based. Asked for something on the spicier side and was given a choice of powder or oil. Chose the powder, ended being quite a dry experience. A choice of dipping sauce would be great here, in my opinion. Brussels Sprouts: this was very nice! Came out hot and tasty in just a few minutes after ordering. The flavours were great. The crunch of the seeds with the soft, slightly charred Brussels sprouts really works out nicely. Definitely recommend for anyone who still thinks Brussels sprouts can never taste good! Pork Buns: this one I was the most excited about and disappointed with. It was just greasy and nothing else. The pork seemed underdone (very soft white fat). Could use a few more veggies or herbs inside to give it a boost. Matcha cheesecake: soft, creamy, not too sweet and quite matcha-y. There was no crust but some crumble topping replaced that. This was a very nice note to end on.

Thank you very much for the...
