Read moreOverall I love this bar and love the food but the bouncer was very rude to my family and I upon arrival.
I have just moved into the area so this was my second time visiting the bar. As the first time I visited there wasn’t any line, I wasn’t aware you had to wait in line. When we first arrived we were waiting behind just one couple. No one greeted us as the bouncer was stuck in conversation with someone else. A new group arrived after us and he walked past us to greet them. As he was walking past I stopped him to ask “excuse me, do we wait here in line for the restaurant?” Or something along these lines. To which he responded with something along the lines of “you can do whatever you want I can’t control what you do, you can go in you can leave. But if you’re here for the bar, this is the line”. I was somewhat taken back as we felt lost since arriving and this was such a passive aggressive response for a simple question especially considering the prestige of the bar and my amazing experience the previous time. It didn’t even answer my question, as I thought there may be a different line for dining guests or something. Afterward he walked past to properly greet the other group that arrived after us. I wondered why we weren’t orientated or greeted upon arrival, as it seemed everyone else was and feeling lost in a new space and then being spoken to rudely when you ask for help wasn't nice. This really set the night off on a bad foot, we loved the food, drinks, service, everything else! The waitress inside was very friendly and helpful. Just this first moment was so disappointing. I live just around the corner and am not sure I’ll be bringing anyone...
Read moreTruly disappointed with our experience here. This was our second visit…. The first hearing a year ago on Atwater’s 10th anniversary weekend which despite how busy it was, was phenomenal. We were back in Montreal this week on vacation looking to visit again with friends this time.
Got there are waited in line for about a half hour. Nothing major. We’re eventually sat down and greeted with water after a few minutes and our server told us he’d be back shortly to take our order. We waited over 45 minutes for them to return to place our order (and told they were sorry for the wait and would bring us a shot on the house), and then another half hour to get our 1st round… meanwhile we watched as employees took round after round of shots with guests who were clearly their friends around us. The shot came with our round, and once we finished drinks, we sat another half hour before we were offered another round which at that point we just asked to please let us leave and bring the check.
Had the service improved after the apology and acknowledgement of how long we’d waited I’d have called it a recovery and decent experience but it was pretty insulting watch staff get more drinks than we could beg to pay for. Were there over 2.5 hours in total and only got one cocktail.
We had a lovely drink and dinner experience at Copilote before heading to Atwater and i wished we’d just stayed there instead of bothering with the...
