In Depth Review:
Mia Cuisine Thai is one of those hidden gems in Montreal that promises a delightful fusion of authentic Thai flavors with a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. From the moment I walked in, I could tell that this spot was about more than just serving food; it was about creating a relaxing experience that felt both traditional and fresh. I had the chance to indulge in a few standout dishes, and I left feeling thoroughly impressed.
Vegetarian Spring Rolls (Made from Scratch In-House) These spring rolls were the highlight of my meal. The freshness of the ingredients was undeniable, and it’s clear they’re made with care. The wrapper was perfectly crispy, not overly greasy, and had a beautiful golden hue. The filling was a flavorful medley of finely chopped vegetables that were still vibrant and crunchy, offering a satisfying contrast to the crunchy exterior. Paired with the dipping sauce, these spring rolls became a true standout in my meal. They’re not just an appetizer; they’re a must-try. I can easily see why these are a fan favorite.
Thai Hot Wings These wings were soo delicious, as the menu promised. Served piping hot and juicy, they had just the right balance of heat and flavor. The crispy skin was perfectly seasoned, giving the wings a satisfying crunch without being overly oily. The meat was tender and juicy inside, and the spicy sauce was the perfect level of heat—enough to get your taste buds tingling without being overwhelming. They were a true comfort food indulgence, and the portion size was generous too. If you’re a fan of wings, these should not be missed.
Crispy Pork Thai Basil Stir-Fry The crispy pork Thai basil stir-fry was another highlight, offering a savory, aromatic experience. The pork was cooked to perfection—crispy on the outside but still tender and juicy on the inside. The basil added a fragrant, herbaceous kick to the dish, complemented by the perfectly balanced mix of spices. The stir-fry had just the right amount of heat and sweetness, with a touch of savory umami that tied everything together. The portion was substantial and well-rounded, making for a satisfying main course. I loved how the dish showcased the bold flavors of Thai cuisine without being overwhelming.
Thai Iced Tea To wash it all down, I opted for the Thai iced tea, which was wonderfully refreshing. The tea had the perfect balance of sweetness and creaminess, with a strong, robust flavor that wasn’t too sugary. Served over ice with a generous splash of milk, it was the ideal accompaniment to the spicier dishes, helping to cool the palate and add a touch of indulgence to the meal.
Ambiance and Service The vibe at Mia Cuisine Thai is casual yet inviting, with warm lighting and a relaxed atmosphere. The staff was friendly and attentive, taking the time to answer questions about the menu and make sure everything was to my liking. The pace of the meal was well-timed, and it felt like they truly cared about each guest’s experience. I also enjoyed the background music, which featured laid-back covers and popular pop songs, adding a relaxed vibe to...
Read moreI really wanted to like this restaurant after seeing the good reviews but unfortunately the only positive experience about this restaurant was the waitress, who was very nice. First of all, it’s freezing inside. The ventilation system for the kitchen is not great, so you will leave the restaurant smelling like fried food. The chicken satay was extremely salty and had a weird after taste. The pad Thai was nothing special. The food was so oily that we both left with upset stomachs. The electricity went out twice while we were eating. They bring out the dishes at very random times so my partner had his dish 15 minutes before mine. He had to wait so by the time my dish was out, his was cold. To finish it off, their card machine was not working and I had to wait 15 minutes and then had to do a payment online because we were tired of waiting. After this disaster, I was expecting for them to give us a discount but nope. The food was extremely pricey for the quality and restaurant experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone. There’s way better Thai places in Montreal like Pick Thai, Mae Sri, Thailande or Gardeb Room.
Edit: to answer to the restaurant comment below. I am very confused by your comment, most of my reviews are 5 stars, but your place doesn’t even deserve one. We did not ask you to redo the dishes because I could tell it was not just a one time issue. Every dish looked bad, even the people eating in the table next to us were commenting how terrible their food was. Even the customers seating by the window didnt finish their food and they were also saying it was disgusting. If people don’t ask you to redo a dish, it’s most likely because people are polite and don’t want to offend anyone, and also because they know the new dish is gonna suck as much, so there’s no point. Second, it’s funny how you only comment certain parts of my review but not all. Because you know it’s true. If I were you I would focus on improving my business, buying fresh ingredients, cleaning the kitchen properly and learning how to cook. I wouldn’t waste my time being rude to customers. When people cannot accept criticism it shows how little emotional...
Read moreDuring our recent visit to Montreal, we stumbled upon a charming Thai restaurant that quickly became a standout experience on our trip. From the moment we walked in, the warm ambiance and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for what would be a memorable meal.
We started with the calamari and spring rolls, both of which were simply outstanding. The calamari was perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and paired with a tangy dipping sauce that elevated each bite. The spring rolls were equally impressive—crunchy, fresh, and filled with flavorful herbs and vegetables. They came with a sweet and spicy sauce that balanced the textures perfectly.
For the main course, we opted for the Pad Thai and Pad See Ew. Both dishes were executed flawlessly. Each dish was an explosion of flavors that made it clear the kitchen was passionate about quality.
What truly made our experience stand out, however, was the younger waitress. She was incredibly personable and engaging, asking us about our plans in Montreal and offering thoughtful suggestions for things to do before our journey back to the US. Her recommendations were spot-on, and her genuine interest in making our visit special really added to the overall experience.
If you’re in Montreal and craving fantastic Thai food, this place is a must-visit. With great food, wonderful service, and a friendly atmosphere, it’s the kind of place you’ll want to return to on...
