Our first visit was to the 3 Brasseurs, Rue de St Denis in the Quarter Latin on Tue April 4, 2024. This area was recommended by our hotel for the wide variety of dining & drinking options. This a franchise chain with 16 locations in Canada. Really busy here on a Tuesday evening with a mix of regular locals and visitors. We didn't have a reservation but found seats at the bar quickly. Tuesday drink special liter of beer $9.50 & NHL hockey on all the TVs. I had their very good Jolly Hopper ($6.75) & a 9oz pinot-grigio (6 OZ $10,25 | 9 OZ $15,50 | 750 ML BOTTLE $39) for my bride. See also had GRILLED VEGETABLES & GOAT CHEESE TARTI-FLAMM $8.25 | FLAMM $19 - a unique, well prepared, right-sized treat. I had to have their poutine, as I have not had in since my previous visit many moons ago. This was packed with excellent smoky brisket over the classic poutine of frites, cheese curd, & beef gravy. CARBONADE POUTINE FRIES $18.75 | MAXI $22.75. Shout out to our server: Laurent J. who maintained his poise with a smile on a very busy evening. Merci. Note: highly recommend reservations for tables & parties of 4+ people. Also this location in the Quarter Latin has limited street parking, uber or taxi is the better choice. SUNDAY - WEDNESDAY 11:30am - Midnight THURSDAY 11:30am - 1:00am FRIDAY - SATURDAY 11:30am - 2:00am We can recommend the 3 Brasseurs for an informal evening get together or a drinks after work. Thank you & Merci to all Nick & Liz,...
Read moreHostess was very impolite from the beginning. She provided us with two options for where to sit and then when we said outside she quickly snapped no and said the only option was inside. It appeared that they sat everyone with kids inside and not on the patios upstairs or outside.
Server was adequate at first. Not completely aware of their beers or juice they have available. She needed to check a couple times, which is fine. After we received our food, she completely ignored us. We were going to order another round and then switched it to a flight to share since the time was counting down. In the end we were not able to order another round. When she did come by, she grabbed the plates and my two kids asked her for the ice cream that comes with their meals. She ignored them and went to another table. When she came back my husband asked for the bill and she mentioned that the kids meals come with dessert, I replied that they had asked for ice cream. In the end we walked 20+ more minutes for the ice cream which she never brought (but she brought the bill and took payment). I had two very disappointed kids. She was also not around to check in.
We were going to buy some beer to go as well but decided that we did not want to support this establishment any further. My husband was looking forward to visiting as he had in the past but after this we will not...
Read moreAwesome friendly service from our favorite brewing franchise from France, solid well crafted round flavoured beer with character and sparkling spirit.
Trois Brasseurs offerts truly "local" brews by "quartier" from their local master Brewer, this is a rather nice option which helps each restaurant set itself apart from the franchise while keeping a superior quality across the board. Contrary to TGI Friday's, Olive Garden and the likes, Trois Brasseurs offers classics but with a twist of French cuisine as well as local French gourmand delicacies like the "cassoulet", "chacroute" and the amazing "Flammenküchen".
Being beer the star some of the dishes are prepared on beer batter, marinades or reductions, to a surprising hearty and tasty dish like their staple the "beer battered super fries"and so much more to discover.
This time I had the shrimp popcorn, super fries and chacroute, not disappointed at all, enjoyed it with a couple glasses of Aussie Shiraz, Jacob's Creek reserve.
Awesome evening in great company, so next time that you found yourself in Montreal make sure to pay them a visit at the "Quartier Latin" and enjoy their friendly efficient service and extra tasty offerings...
