BEST AYCE SUSHI I TRIED IN MONTREAL SO FAR.

Sushi tasted really good, no unwanted mushiness. Fish is fresh and very well presented for sashimis. I also had lamb and squid skewers, I had to double order these ones because they were so well seasoned, so tender and soft but also very smokey and slightly crunchy on the outside (very pleasantly surprised for kaedo because I find skewers to be challenging for all the ayce I tried, usually they are very chewy and either dry and overcooked or hard to chew on and undercooked, I 100% recommend eating them in Kaedo)

I think this place was under a different name, I usually order from them on Uber eats quiet frequently, as they are the only sushi place with a fresh taste and good portion size, but since the name changed and I haven't noticed, I was so sad that the only sushi place that I liked in Montreal had vanished. When I realized it's the same place, I was overjoyed.

The staff was very friendly, smiling at every interaction and made me feel very welcomed. They also let me chose where to sit. No rushing, no unreasonable wait time, no mistakes made in my orders. I also came in at 5pm on a Friday which is when they open, it was still relatively not busy, and the service was impeccable. Believe it or not, hard to find these qualities in most of the ayce sushi in Montreal, but I love it here !

Lastly, the presentation of food, the taste, the atmosphere and how really beautiful and relaxing it was, makes me want to come over and over and over again !

Mango icecream ftw 🥭🥭🥭🥭, very much recommend (also very cute presentation with little marshmallows, usually other places would just put the single scoop in a small bowl looking lonely)

I've been coming to this sushi buffet for almost 10 years! It is weird that it didn't occur to me to rate this place sooner!

It's great for family gatherings, friends' nights out, and even a date! When we come here in a large group for some special occasions, the owner always gets our orders together, sorting it beautifully on this large wooden boat!

Ok! Finally, the food , which is the essential part that makes us keep coming back ! We always get tons of salmon sashimi , it is amazing to get the fresh fish out of the sushi bar and on our table so speedily ! The shrimp tempura and the sweet potato tempura are must as well! Crispy on the outside, tender and full of flavors on the inside, dipping in the special sauce, nice and hot! So 👍 If there has to be one thing that I'm not 100% satisfied with, it's gotta to be the beef skewers. Sometimes, it feels a bit too dry for my taste, I would suggest trying the beef carpaccio instead, "melting in your mouth" kind of delicious !

As for the service, from taking our order ( they do a la carte too) to serving foods on our table, as well as taking the empty plates away, everything is super quick!

One suggestion at the end: Do reserve a table if you plan to go on the weekends! Otherwise, you will...

→ We've been to the restaurant twice. The first time was memorable and amazing. The food was to die for from appetizers to desserts. Everything was beautifully-presented, even the ice cream. The portions were generous, so make sure that you guys only ordered an enough amount to eat. The only thing we felt bad was that there were too much rice on the nigiri. 🥹🥹 It was so convenient when we could order everything through an ipad. Also, we was extremely surprised that the food came to us immediately after submitting the order. The service was really really fast and the staffs always came to our table to check if we've done something. Therefore, we would like to give Taiyo 5.5/5 for the first time. ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️

→ The second time was not satisfying as the first time. Maybe it was Monday or maybe we were a little bit tired on that day or maybe it was not the same chef. There was too much vinegar added to sushi rice, which made us could not enjoy the rice anymore. But it was not bad at all, so it was 4/5 for us. ☀️☀️☀️☀️

→ Overall, this restaurant is really worth it. So come here if you are craving AYCE...
