Sept 2022 - the food is still as good as the first time we were there (see below). The only issue was that it was very warm in the restaurant. Yes, it was hit outside, but just as hot inside. June 2022 -Now that I started enjoying Indian food, we are trying different places. Whether it be Northern or Southern Indian we are trying it all. Reading reviews, looking at the menu, helps us decide if we are to try it or not. The only drawback is parking. Very difficult unless you walk, bike or use public transportation. Now for the food. Well, it's really, really good. We started with one order, 6 pieces if the Pani Puri appetizer. I could have eaten more than three. They were that good. We also had an order of Chicken Biryani, Butter Chicken and Chicken Muglai, a Mango Lassi and one garlic Naan. Everything was amazing. The Biryani and Muglai were a bit spicy but the Naan and Lassi helped calm the burn. Then I couldn't resist, so I had a Gulab Jamun. Holy smokes, it was good too. Highly recommend this place. We will definitely go back. Difficult parking and all. Good job.

Before COVID-19, I used to go eat at Indian Curry House and I had a very good memory. Quality was good and food tasted great. Based on that, few days ago, me and my pregnant wife decided to order some Indian food through Doordash. My first reflex was to order from Indian Curry House. When food came, we tasted the food and it was blend, not well cooked (naan bread was burned on one side, Dahl soup was watery and blend etc.), very oily and my wife didn't feel good. She started to vomit. I was very disappointed as I had myself some sort of nausea and discomfort in my stomach. We couldn't eat the food. I contacted immediately Doordash via chat and they took my message very seriously and refunded me. They also took the initiative to contact the restaurant as the taste was off but more importantly the quality and safety were a concern. I feel that the covid situation really impacted badly the quality and integrity of a lot of restaurants. Unfortunately, I don't feel comfortable ordering again and recommending this restaurant. Very disappointed that money is becoming more important than quality. Sorry but I cannot give more than 2 stars!!! I personally cannot recommend!!! Kudos to Doordash team for nicely handling and resolving the situation!!!

I walk down the street from where curryhouse is... and it seems like there are dozens of Indian restaurants in this neighborhood! But none as crowded as this one. We made reservations to make sure we got a spot, and I have to say, I'm glad we did! The vibe of the place shouts family, and it's very loud, conversation all around (It is not ideal for conversation--especially for big groups) The staff is cordial but always in a hurry. A lot of hustle and bustle in this joint. All that does not detract from the wonderful food! I definitely had more than my fill and I really enjoyed the meal. It was a good price for what we got. If you are a newbie to Indian food and want a good deal come by here! PS: I got the chef's specialty: Thali in chicken curry--if you want Thali (also comes in vegetarian and butter chicken) make sure to order it before 9 pm

Took my friend out to try Indian food for the first time and she was NOT disappointed :) This place has a huge and reasonably priced menu full of flavorful choices. We tried the naan, garlic naan, paneer naan, and parantha. The paneer naan was good but came out cold, the rest were warm and delicious. As for our entrees, we ordered the Vindaloo, the tandoori chicken, the butter chicken, and the Chana masala. SOOO GOOD!!!! Everything was full of flavor and mouth watering. If you’re a fan of spice then stick with the Chana masala or the Vindaloo. I trust anything on this menu to taste really good. My friend got the mango lasse (yogurt mango drink), which was yummy and refreshing. The place is quite busy but the staff was efficient and took the time to answer any questions. I will definitely be coming back!

Too much disappointment.. I ordered veg biryani and chicken biryani for takeout and they gave 2 Lamb biryani .. The food is actually good but its the waitress who doesn’t pay attention to orders going out. Even before placing the order, when im waiting at the counter with the menu in my hand, she asks , “ are you here to place an order”? Like dude why else do you think im here for? Washing my face? I have had the same issue with the same waitress last time i was there to dine it. With a sad face and showing no interest with what thw customer is saying! Please hire good waitresses and train them well. Hiring desi waitress doesn’t mean they are good at their job.

Customer service was difficult, the first girl had no idea what I was saying and didn’t know her restaurant was on Jean Talon..? The butter chicken thali had a nice sauce, very dry chalky chicken, and itty bitty portion we couldnt believe it (container is tops 2 inches diameter at the top) Not even enough sauce to wet the little portion of rice. Korma curry sauce tasty, expensive for just a container of sauce with no rice or naan included. We eat alot of Indian and there are other places with better flavours for better prices like Lakshana’s for example on cote des neiges, just had takeout there 2 weeks ago. Their samosas however are great cuz we get them often.
