I don't know where William H-L had his pizza but it doesn't sound like anything I've ever experienced from McGill Pizzeria, 625 Rue Milton, cross street University. I used to be a chef of pizzeria that did more classic, Italian, wood oven, thin crust pizza with authentic ingredients. Though McGill pizza isn't that, it is something very authentic. If you like a meaty, cheesy, saucy, hearty pizza; the kind of zza that puts you in one of those sensory overload umami, cheese comas... McGill Pizzeria is the only delivery pizza I've ever tasted that some human has actually taken the time to chop up garlic, fresh oregano, add fresh olive oil and actually make a delicious proper tomato sauce. There dough is made fresh and their ingredients surpass anything the fastfood chemical pizza joints are producing. Dear young developing Minds of McGill, pizza isn't the healthiest food for scholarly library, athlete's but relax once a week, at least and if you order pizza, remember any pizza chain, know this from a man who has worked in high-end kitchen's for over a decade in mtl, fast food pizza is like eating something that isn't food at all. Food isn't just something you put in your mouth. It's supposed to...
Read moreMy outing at McGill Pizzeria was comparable to a modern day rapture, except that everyone goes to hell. This establishment is best described by vile food, greedy service and stinky stinky smells. Stale bread, bland coffee and cockroash-tasting geeseturd-resembling poo-tatoes. The waitress could have been kind of nice but her hair and spit in my food didn't help, am I right ladies ? Also, if you're reading this, brush your teeth girl. The poorly worded and Comic Sans printed menu was a pain to read, I suddenly felt like they were trying to trick me. Having the audacity to order extra fruit, I would have never thought that this would equate to 1 (ONE) piece of disgusting dried out green melon. I will now try to describe the food. Oh lord. Ohhhh boy what a surprise this was, because of the simple fact I am sure that my grandpa has NEVER tasted anything worse in his entire life, and he went to Auschwitz. When the plate arrived, I thought they had mistakenly given me the leftover dogfood from last week. Staring down at my food, I realized it kind of looked like last week's compost at my mommy's house, and she had made...
Read moreLet me start off by saying that I could give this place 6 stars, I would.
The taste of the food is, in the simplest of terms, tantalizing. As an Italian, I can say with 100% certainty that I have never had the honour of tasting such an exquisite, savoury, scrumptious pizza. I may not be a Greek god, but my meal was ambrosia. At no moment did I think this pizza was frozen.
I do not doubt that the talented pizzaiolo at McGill Pizza carefully hand picked each high-quality fresh ingredient that went into my succulent pie. From the aromatic tomato sauce to the fragrant cheese imported from the finest regions of Italy, every single square nanometer of my pizza felt like DaVinci's finest work if he were a chef. This pizza was definitely not frozen, and I would eat here again. In fact, I'd rather eat here one more time than suffer from crippling osteoporosis. So delicious.
I would totally recommend going to this place and bringing the whole family along for an "experience", especially if you're an avid pizza-lover and looking for the next...
