We came here for my friends birthday and the entire group of 6 were extremely disappointed.
The service was really horrible. The waitress only took our food order once we had been sitting there for an hour. It took extremely long even for the appetizers to come out. Once they did, they were cold. Including the octopus which was on the “hot appetizers” list. The waitress never checked up on our table despite passing by several times. My friend had to ask one of the bus boys to have our waitress come over so she could get another drink because she just never came back to our table once we ordered. The hostess and bartenders looked miserable. It was just overall really poor service.
The restaurant itself has a nice ambiance however it’s very packed. Tables are super close together, no where to hang your coats/bags so we had to ask for an extra chair to put all of our belongings. We sat downstairs where it was freezing cold because they left the front door open in 10degree weather? Most of us wore our coats while eating. Meanwhile upstairs was boiling hot to the point where people were fanning themselves with their menus. I guess they were having an issue with their heating so they decided to leave the door open to try and make it better for the people upstairs ?! It was super uncomfortable and not enjoyable at all.
And lastly, the food and drinks. We all ordered cocktails, we all hated them. 3 of us ordered the same cocktail and they each tasted different. One of my friends had to send her drink back because all of us tried it and literally not one of us wanted to drink it. The rest of us just scarfed them down cause we felt bad sending them all back. The food was, I guess, the best part despite it being mediocre. When asking the group if they liked their meals everyone just shrugged and said “it’s okay…”.
Overall, would definitely not recommend this place. I really don’t know how it has such good reviews. Pick another Italian restaurant if you don’t want to be...
Read moreI booked a reservation at Tiamo for my birthday—a party of seven—a month in advance. We even called the restaurant three weeks before the date to make sure everything was set, specifically requesting to be seated either upstairs or in a booth for a cozy, dim-lit vibe. We mentioned it was a birthday and were told it would be noted. Everything seemed confirmed, and they even called the day of to make sure we were still coming. When we arrived, we were told our table wasn’t ready yet. Then, they ended up seating us downstairs next to the DJ booth, right by the bar and front doors—the absolute worst table possible. It was loud, chaotic, and totally opposite of the atmosphere we had requested weeks in advance. When I asked the hostess what happened, she wasn’t rude, but she was clearly unhelpful and didn’t try to make anything right. We asked if we could wait for a better table and were told that wasn’t an option. She also explained that they had to stick an extra table to ours to fit us—which made it feel rushed and last-minute. To make it worse, she told us that the person we had spoken to over the phone didn’t even write down our request to sit upstairs or in a booth. The only thing noted was “birthday cake”—which was not what we asked for. It was incredibly disorganized and disappointing. There was no apology, no effort to accommodate us, and no attempt to make things right. We ended up leaving without eating. I had looked forward to this dinner for weeks, and they made it feel like it didn’t matter at all. Do not book this place for a special occasion unless you’re okay being misled, and treated like an...
Read moreFirst of all, I reserved this place weeks ago for my significant other’s birthday and they gave us quite possibly the WORST seats at the restaurant. They made us sit in a tight hallway right next to the kitchen where all we heard were the servers yelling at the chefs and not to mention the heat of the pizza oven radiating all over us. The hallway was so tight people were cramming against our table to pass knocking our table several times. The owner was just standing there and didn’t even bother to make sure if we were comfortable or not! These seats shouldn’t even be there, I was really craving a steak or I would never have spent so much money if I’m being seated somewhere as ridiculous as this.
We ordered the grilled octopus, rigatoni with Italian sausage and the filet mignon plus cocktails for each of us. The cocktails came in a tall thin glass which makes the drink feel small and definitely overpriced. The grilled octopus was very good would order that again. The rigatoni was also good although I don’t ever order pasta at a restaurant. Finally I got the filet mignon for myself and boy was I disappointed. It is the second most expensive item on the menu and you only get a 6oz meat drenched in sauce it looked like it was a burger patty. For the price you’re paying it should be at least 8oz but I’d honestly never come back here again. The pizzas looked good, play it safe and order that over anything else. Shame I brought my girl here to impress her and I left...
