We recently hosted a small corporate event at Moreiras, and it exceeded all expectations. From start to finish, owner and chef Jonathan went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect for our group of 20.
Jonathan was incredibly accommodating—he worked with us to create a custom menu that catered to various dietary needs and food intolerances, which was deeply appreciated. He also prepared a lovely space at the front of the restaurant just for our group, complete with coat check, which added a nice touch of comfort and convenience.
The food was absolutely phenomenal. Jonathan’s menu was creative and beautifully executed. Everything came out hot, fresh, and perfectly timed. The tomato brochettes, arancini, octopus, meatballs, and pizza were standout favorites—bursting with flavor and clearly made with care. There were even desserts included in our hors d’oeuvres, which was a welcome and delightful surprise!
A special mention goes to the two waitresses who served us throughout the evening—they were amazing in every way. Warm, attentive, and incredibly professional, they made sure everything ran smoothly and that our guests were comfortable and well looked after.
Moreiras was the perfect setting for our gathering. Warm, welcoming, and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend for anyone looking to host an event—or just enjoy an excellent meal with top...
Read moreWe were highly disappointed with our experience at Moreiras. The service from our waitress was subpar, to say the least. She seemed completely unaware of her surroundings and ignored clear body language signals indicating it was difficult to hear her. Instead of stepping closer or speaking louder, she carried on as if everything was fine.
Her clumsiness was also an issue; she spilled wine at our table and didn’t even follow traditional serving etiquette, starting with the man instead of the woman—something both of us found odd and unprofessional. We had to specifically ask for serving utensils for our appetizers, which should have been instinctive for any competent server.
As for the food, it was nothing special and certainly not worth the inflated prices. The only dish I would recommend is the truffle arancini, but even that isn’t enough to redeem the overall experience. The wine was mediocre and overpriced for the quality.
Adding to the discomfort, the restaurant was freezing cold, making it hard to enjoy the meal. To top it all off, our waitress lacked basic manners, never responding when we said thank you, which felt rude and dismissive.
With poor service, average food, and an unwelcoming atmosphere, I cannot...
Read moreAwful experience at your restaurant last night. The food was good, but the service was downright embarrassing.
We showed up at 6:20 without a reservation and were told we had to be out by 7:45. No problem. But after being seated, we waited 15 minutes before our server, Jana, even came to take our order. Then at 6:50, all our food showed up at once, two appetizers and two mains, jammed onto a tiny table with no space. We were rushed from the moment we sat down. My main course arrived before the glass of wine I ordered. I had to ask for the wine again because the server had clearly forgotten.
No one checked in on the food. No water refills. No offer of cheese for my pasta. Jana couldn’t be bothered to make eye contact or acknowledge us. It was obvious she was ignoring the table. We were out by 7:10, 35 minutes earlier than necessary.
And let’s be real: when your server is too busy checking her Rolex and acting like she’s above doing her actual job, that says everything. I recognized her from private school. Some people leave with an education. Others leave with entitlement and zero work ethic.
The kitchen deserves credit. The food was solid. But with service like this, I wouldn’t come back or recommend...
