Filipino food has been called the "next best thing" by many food writers in North America. Kasama in Chicago, Jeepney in New York; they are all reputable restaurants serving the finest that the Philippines can dish out in North America. It is with no great surprise that the same kind of culinary explosion is happening here in Montreal as well!

While Morena might not have the same kind of publicity or dining experience as more established venues, they make it up with terrific meals that is by far some of the best I have tried.

The fried chicken is seasoned to perfection. The filipino spaghetti is the right kind of sweet. The meat skewers are wonderfully tender. The menu are represents the best that filipino food has to offer. All at generous prices.

The staff might not have the highest standards in terms of waiting but they are nevertheless warm and inviting. In fact, they are all former nurses from the Philippines, so if ever you decide to have a medical episode while eating, Morena might be the best...

There are way better options in this neighborhood for Pinoy food and they don't treat their customers like garbage. Truly one of the most awful restaurant experiences and cashier is terrible. I arrived at 7pm, an hour before closing on a Friday. The place was busy, but he took our order and sat us at a dirty table. I moved the dishes to another dirty table and wiped it myself with a napkin. Then the food came out. No silverware, had to get it myself. None of sides. Just overpriced rushed lechon.

The real kicker is that when my daughter went up to ask for a cup, the owner said the restaurant only has bottled water. But, hilariously, he left a jug of tap water on our table from the previous patrons. Why do all these other tables have jugs of water too? He looked so stupid,...

Would recommend this place to anyone who’s a food enthusiast and a fan of Filipino cuisine. No other restaurant near Plamondon metro would make you feel like you’re family when you eat in there. The chef was friendly and asking me if the food i ordered was good. The dish they serve in this place reminds me of home-cooking as if the food was prepared by your own mom. The only downside is that the food took quite long for it to be served but it was understandable since multiple online orders were being prepared, the kitchen was small and there were not that many people working in there. Overall, i’m still surprised that the chefs served quality food even in the heat of many orders coming through and the small kitchen they cook in. Would definitely come back and eat...

If you're looking for authentic, fresh, and delicious Filipino food, Morena Restaurant is a must-go! While already very popular within the Filipino community, I highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone looking to experience Filipino food for the first time as well. The space is cozy, clean, and welcoming- everything you want from a local, neighborhood restaurant. During my visit, I had the one of their various combo meals (around $13-14 tax included): 2 pieces of fried chicken, a pork bbq skewer, and rice. I also ordered a piece of bbq chicken on the side. The food was delicious and I will definitely be going back again soon!

The food is good but more than half the menu is “out of stock” when we went at dinner time on a Saturday. Apparently you have to order in advance for the majority of items which was not mentioned anywhere in the menu (same one on google reviews). It took a while for the waiter to take our order and the wait time for the food was on the longer side. The floors were also sticky and I had to clean the bottom of my shoes after. The saving grace was the price and portions and food was pretty good. Overall disappointing service for a restaurant. We found better service at the cafeteria style place named PLENGKE down the street.

Morena is without a doubt the best pure Filipino restaurant in Montreal. I know food, I have lived all ober the world and my father is a chef :) Their Bulalo, Sizzling Sisig, Crispy Pata, Lumpia, Fried Chicken, Spaghetti and Palabok were amazing. Their Lover's Platter is great for any occasion, especially for get togethers. Dominic and his staff were professional, friendly, welcoming and funny. They followed all covid protocols. I highly na highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. Thank you/salamat for everything Dom. Ingats! - Marvyn from Saint-Hubert :)
