Although fried chicken has really had a come back in North America, largely due to companies like Popeyes and a slew of Korean BBQ restaurants selling amazing friend chicken and great prices and then a new strain of excited entrepreneurs and chefs opening up new hip restaurants featuring fried chicken- at typically overpriced levels that are a hit or miss.
When it comes to a franchise you can typically rely that the food will be the same everywhere and as such you assume a certain quality and taste expectation.
In the case of this location of KFC I decided to see if they still make a decent fried chicken product. To my amazement, the food was beyond horrible. As a kid we used to love kfc and I was hoping for this experience. So, what was wrong? The food (chicken) smelled outright foul! Aside from smelling unappealing it also tasted similarly. I don’t know if the chicken was left out of refrigeration too long, or if it was left cooked and sitting and then refried as a reheat - this chicken ruined me for KFC anywhere in the world in the future. I also became extremely sick shortly after eating the food - the details of this I will spare you of.
All in all, I am not sure what other locations in the world offer and if it’s any different, but for me this is a non repeat. In addition, for the price, taste, texture, and portion there are so many amazing alternatives especially those of the Korean Bbq establishments. And if you’re in a state or province with a Popeyes, this would be a much better alternative - though if given a choice I would still opt for a Korean bbq establishments.
I do not add photos as at this point in society I am sure the majority people know what kfc chicken is supposed to...

I had one of the worst experiences at this KFC branch today, and I feel compelled to share it so others are aware. I ordered a burger and tender meal, and within minutes of receiving it, I noticed that the chicken was cold—not lukewarm, not mildly warm—cold. Naturally, I went back to let the staff know. Instead of handling the situation with professionalism or even basic courtesy, I was met with rudeness and an unbelievably arrogant attitude. HORRIBLE BEHAVIOUR!
One of the male staff members decided to talk down to me, loudly and dismissively in front of other customers. He mansplained that the sauce and lettuce are cold, as if I’ve never eaten a burger before and couldn’t tell the difference between cold chicken and cold toppings. He was not just condescending—he was borderline aggressive, utterly callous, and showed no interest in resolving the issue politely.
To top it off, while they did refund the order, it was not even the full amount! The bill was $10.33, and I was refunded only $9.20—so I basically paid over a dollar just to witness their appalling customer service.
This entire experience left a sour taste (and no, not the kind that comes with sauce). I didn’t walk in expecting a good dining experience, but I did expect hot food and basic decency. Sadly, this location seems to offer neither.
Do better, KFC. Because no one deserves to be spoken to so rudely, especially when making a genuine and immediate complaint. I won’t be returning—and I’ll make sure...
Read moreIt was my KFC Tuesday specials craving sending me reminder signals for a greasy dinner, after such a long time being on healthy eating.
So we took the bike and rode 2 kms to our closest location at 8710 Sherbrooke St East. To our surprise, a note on the locked door - building under maintenance, go to 6420 Beaubien Rd E.
Determined, we biked back home and took the car to that new location- door was also locked! - building under maintenance. What a joke!
So, frustrated, I googled the next location... Gallerie Anjou Mall. Guess what? Could not find any KFC restaurant in the food court. We gave up.
So, a few days later, just after we had dinner, we drove past this KFC location at 6625 Ave Victoria near cote des neiges,... Oh Yes ! It was opened... that's our revenge! We ordered 3 chicken pieces to satisfy this craving.
While service at this location was acceptable, the fried chicken pieces were not, having stayed in the oven longer than required, with one of the piece being a tiny wing portion, mostly thick greasy battered skin and bones.
After consumption, it all comes back to me and no need to explain why we had removed these meals from our eating habit.
Just a couple of days later, to our total surprise, we received a KFC flyer in the mail. Ha! It went directly in the ...
