I been going to this place for like 3 years and there have been on and off orders like wrong dishes or forgot to add sauce to the general tao. but today ...... i order the #155 black been sauce noodles with beef to go a dish i like and have order numerous times before. so i arrive home pour the contents and i see dry fry pizza thing, when i look at it more closely the noodles were fried to the point that made single fat piece noodle pizza that could not untangle it even with the sauce and it was hard to even bite it. so i call and tell them about they could not even understand the problem their English was so bad all they could say was that those were the noodles i order it was BAD .i took a pic the whole piece in the center of the picture are actually noodles

Best Chinese restaurant in Cote-des-Neiges. If you’re looking for HUGE portions of no frills American-Chinese fare, this is the place to check out. The beef + gailan chow mein is saucy and crunchy. General Tao, probably my favourite in town - these chunky nuggets are meaty, none of the usual giant blobs of dough they try to serve you at other places. The wontons - springy little bites of pure shrimpy goodness! They also serve the most generous portion of shrimp toast I’ve ever seen. I’ve been going to the Kam Shing in Plaza CDN for years and having noticed a drop in quality at that location, I’ve swapped over to this smaller but much friendlier locale on Van Horne. The wait staff uncles here are hilarious, so friendly and super attentive.

My favorite place in the area!! We love it. Our favorites are salt and pepper squid, general tao, orange beef, crispy noodles with vegetables and egg rolls. Lately we tried the lunch special, it is a huge platter and includes soup and a roll as well. Cheap, delicious and filling! Lunch special is only for weekdays. But no matter what time it is when it is, if you are looking for comfort food, you should try Kam Shing! The staff is very friendly and fun. We never had a bad experience so far given that we visit there very often. They even gave us some plants from the restaurant. If you are in the area, don’t look for another place, try Kam Shing 😍 Thank you soo so much for everything!!

I have been going to kam shing for over 20 years and i was always a loyal customer to them but today on mother’s day i have been so disappointed by the service provided by the owner of the kam shing not even the workers. I called at supper time to make a pick up the order, the owner on the phone tells me its going to take about one hour instead of the usual 15 minutes waiting time. I was surprised and told him if it would be faster if i just come to the restaurant and make the order, he answers no because there is s line up in the store. I hang up and decide to still go there and verify since i live 5 min away. Once there i was so confused since there was no line up and the restaurant was no even half full only about 4 tables of families were used. Once there owner at the cash was ready to take my order he never mentioned i had to wait so i was even more confused at what he told me on the phone 5 minutes ago so i did the mistake to mention that i was told on the phone to wait one hour for a pick up so i came, once he realized that i was the one that called he told me ‘’ oh yeah you are still going to wait one hour’’ The restaurant tables were mostly empty so if i wanted to be seated to eat at the restaurant you really think they would serve me in one hour… So because of that nasty attitude the owner had we picked up the food last minute at another asian restaurant that was not good and so the food went to flop on this mother’s day.

As a loyal customer for over 20 years, respectfully, i won’t go there anymore knowing all of that came from the owner himself with whom i have had many...

Went for a late lunch with my s/o. Restaurant was almost empty (which we loved) for the first hour, but by the time we left around 5:30, the place was full. The decor is a little old, and the tables covered with piles of plastic liners instead of tablecloths, so right away we knew that we were going to be in for a treat!! This place is without pretension, and it totally works. Makes anybody feel welcome.

I'm usually really hard in my reviews, but this time, I was so pleased with my experience.

The service staff was very courteous. We were served delicious green tea as we sat down.

I'm really not a fan of 'north-amercian' asian cuisine, but since my partner loves it so much, we ordered a variety of 'classics', and all of it was de-li-cious. Normally, I always find something I dislike, but this time, everything was perfect. Wonton soup and dumplings were made with shrimp (yum!). Veggies were cooked al dente. I've never had general tao chicken like this before... It was so tasty, so chicken-y, so crunchy! The honey spare ribs cam right off the bone and melted in your mouth.

The servings were generous enough for us to stuff our faces, and bring home some more. The prices may be a little higher than what you'd expect (only slightly) but it was totally worth it IMO.

They served us one item at a time and at first we thought it was weird, but it turned out that we couldn't have enjoyed our meal any more than we already did. People in a rush might not appreciate the pace, but when you're in good company, time just flies! Perfect place to bring your family!

I will definitely return and...

After reading the reviews we decided to give this place a try as Chinese food is one of our favourite cuisines.

We arrived early (around 7ish) to find all the tables busy and a couple waiting in front of us. Within 10 minutes we were seated at our table. During our dinner, tables were filled and emptied constantly.

The food on all the other tables looked delicious and the portions huge!!!

We ordered from the vast menu : fried wontons, salt and pepper shrimp and general Tao chicken.

The service was not fast but it gave us time to do some people watching in the vast dining room. A great mix of cultures, ages and groups (tourist, locals, families, couples, friends)

The wontons were not the nicest i have tasted but the two other dishes were delicious with just the right amount of flavour and heat.

The prices are very reasonable and for the most part the service is friendly. I agree that the restaurant decor is not great, but it doesn't need to be for fast, tasty and cheap...
