Pub Victoria — Restaurant in Montreal

Popped into this place for a pint and some food. Was greeted by a lovely server. Super friendly. I believe her name was Jenny????? Some nice beers on tap. Had the typical Irish Harp!!! Nice n cold and spotless glass!! Was thinking the typical greasy pub fare. But instead decided to go with the Poulet Victoria. Chicken breast, with a honey and dijon mustard seed glaze, on a bed of herbed rice with a nice mixed gree salad with carrots purple cabbage and radish, nice vinegar reduction dressing. Service was super fast. The server was very attentive and my pint was replenished before I had finished my last even asked If I wanted a glass of water, topped with lemon and kept filling as she was walking around the Bar. Lovely chatting with her as well. I saw a portion of Fish n Chips come out ( was my first choice but changed my mind ) and wow it was huge. Glad I went with my chicken dish. But will certainly try the Fish next time. Thanks for a great dinner and wonderful service....

Tried this pub out before heading to the airport. Visiting from Vancouver, the idea was to try smoked meat and poutine. It was ok. Not awesome but ok. The really interesting part however is where I saw another customer who didn't tip as much as the waitress wanted them to. She brought back the debit machine and demanded that the customer make another payment to cover the full 15 percent tip. Granted, a tip is often 15 percent but I was surprised at how angry the waitress got. A 15 tip is also not mandatory. Its standard but not mandatory... So if you attend this pub, be careful with your tipping or experience a verbal confrontation with...

Premium Montreal Old Port pricing with the food quality of a roadside motel where busses used to stop. A smoked meat sandwich contained low quality, too thinly cut, and dry/stale smoked meat and it came with overcooked fries. When I asked to replace the fries (which has got to be the cheapest thing possible), they tried to convince me to keep the fries - "they're fine, they just were cooked too long".
