I went to this establishment on a Saturday (prior to the Karan Aujla concert) after seeing it on Tiktok. The exterior looks great 🤩 The interior also looks great ....until you sit down. The front if the resto had 1 employee. Her English wasn't great and she was very slow. The restaurant wasn't full but did have 2 parties of 4-6 people each. We were 3. It took so long for someone to take our order that we only ordered an appetizer & 2 Sholay bhaturay. That took over 30 mins. The appetizer was a French fry dish and wasn't great. The fries were soggy but that might be how the dish is supposed to be. The main issue was that it was cold. The main dish was just ok.
The floors were disgusting. The empty tables were all dirty. The washrooms were horrendous 😭. When our thali came it was a pale pink plastic melamine material and they were severely stained to the point that you could scrape off previous food layers. Those trays should not be used in a restaurant, nor are they meant to be.
Another server showed up an hour later. It took forever to get our bill, so we could leave. The food was also not great. I'm so disappointed in this place given that it is designed so well. I didnt want to write this review but I feel in order for a business to improve, they need to know the truth and build from there. My concern was if the standard in the front was bad...what was the kitchen like 🤷 #DoBetter
Tip: You need a resto consultant to come in and train the staff on efficiency. As soon as patrons leave, their table needs to be cleared, cleaned and reset. The floors need to be swept. Cutlery, salt+pepper, and condiments need to be at the table.
It seemed obvious that there might have been a staffing issue but at gora restos, one server could have handled the volume and cleaning by themselves if it was like it was the day I was there.
The smell of a person's B.O can be overwhelming and to each their own but it was extremely strong and made it hard to enjoy the meal and stay any longer then we had to. Just as too much perfume can be too...
Read moreI'm a long time customer of this place since last two to three years. It used to be one of the best Indian Restaurants with their signature items of including ; Choole Kulche Chicken Dishes.
I use to come here a lot (2 times per week, and also bring a lot of friends, as there are hardly any authentic Indian restaurant left in Montreal Island).
But unfortunately, after their new menu which contains more than 60-70 items, the quality of Food has decreased drastically. We came in a group of 6 people, and ordered a lot of different varieties of food, including their signature items of Lamb and Chicken which was in previous menu. Unfortunately, everything tasted the same, which also seems like, the restaurant is not able to cope up with such a huge menu. The food seems to be prepared in ready to eat sauce rather than authentic Indian style.
I will highly recommend this restaurant to change menu to smaller one, and keep the authenticity of the place which attracted many people.
We all were highly disappointed during our last two visits, and we have decided NOT TO VISIT this place, unless they make their food...
