Decided to try Dominican good with the family. My girlfriend heard about this place from many work peers who highly recommended it.
Is a small and quiet place. Very clean. During our evening there were two other couples at a table and two takeout orders. In other words, it wasn't crowded and that's the way I like it.
The waitress was very, very polite and friendly. Our first time so she explained the menu and options.
I prefer my chicken grilled rather than fried and she gladly did that for me.
The food was very delicious. Everyone really enjoyed their meal. My favorite were the sausages (or whatever their name was). Second favorite was the bean mixture I poured on my rice.
The only negative comment I had was that I like when my cherone has more meat. Theirs are a little too fatty. Personal preference cause my girlfriend likes then fatty.
I wanted to order a soup. Supposedly they have this soup with beef, pork and chicken. Unfortunately they didn't make it this time of year.
I definately do recommend trying this place. I will definately be back to try the soup. Hope they have a meal size serving. I...
Read moreVisiting Montreal for the first time and I was hungry, but I don't want to eat poutine again. I googled for a restaurant near my location, and I found this Spanish restaurant in Montreal. I told my wife we are going there to try it, and we went. To my big surprise, everything was awesome; the food was great, and the service was outstanding. Yo!!! For me, the best platter was the white rice, red beans, salad, tostones, and pork chop. The seasoning in the beans was one of the best I've ever tried in a Spanish restaurant. My wife ate shrimp shish-kabobs and said they were awesome, very well cooked, and the shrimp were very tender. If you are visiting Montreal and you are hungry for some Spanish food, I recommend it 100% to eat here. Remember, my friends, I am 100% Puerto Rican, and I know what I am talking about. God bless these people who make great Spanish food in...
Read moreWhen you enter the restaurant, you start reading all the messages written all over the walls. Very cozy environment with latino music background and superb service. It was not busy for a Friday evening.
This was our first time eating mofongo and it did not disappoint. If you are a plantain lover, this is your dish! The beef mofongo was a saucy dish which went well with the mofongo, the chicken was well seasoned but it was pan fried, so it was on the dried side. Both complemented by a small salad and an amazing salsa. We also tried their sancocho and it was so rich, so flavour… if you are a soup lover, you will love it.
Don’t forget to ask for dessert as it is not in the menu! We had tres leches, flan de coco, and regular flan. All very good!
Overall it was a great experience trying this Dominican restaurant: the food, the...
