Dagwoods La Sandwicherie — Restaurant in Mount Royal

Went in last Monday (11 Sep 23) evening, about 20 minutes before close. The guy behind the counter just looked at me without saying a word for a good 5 seconds. Complete death stare. Until I asked if they were closed and he responded with a blatant “almost”.

I’ve worked retail and hospitality, and I get that you are tired towards close. But it’s not like I snuck in a minute before close or something.

Horrible service. I grew up on Dagwoods my entire life, but honestly the restaurants seem run down/dated, the sandwich was subpar, and if there isn’t even customer service… what’s the point...

Went here with my son on the recommendation of these reviews. My son ordered the Bab, which he liked a lot (what else do you get out of a 13 yr old) and I was going to order the chicken salad, but Charlie the owner berated me for not having the Dagwood, if I was coming here based on reviews!

I am glad he did! This place slices the cheese and meat fresh right in front of you, the vegetable toppings were fresh and both my son and I felt this was the best sub sandwich we have ever had!

Have the Dagwood...

Last time I went it was perfect.. and I didn't mind paying the price because he made the sandwiches nice and full.... this time.. it wasn't the same person... no white bread left...and the 12 inch literally looked cheap.. no meat...a ton of salad.. and it really bugged me to pay the full price for something that lacked in quality. I will definitely go back.. but if I see the same person I will quickly change my...
