Food is average to be honest , I was expecting too much. The takoyaki is a let down, the amount of octopus is inconsistent so does the filling. One bite you have one very small octopus, the next one has a giant bit. The seasoning was not spot on. I mean even the one served by Matsuri/Otakuthon taste better in seasoning, better filling and more consistent.
The grilled squid was acceptable but could be much better. Granted grilled squid is slightly chewy, but there's a different between slightly and too much. I can somewhat understand since we were Thursday night and there's a crowd of customer, so I'll forgive them pass on that one. So does pretty much every squid/octopus related dish.
The surf clam was spot on, it was tender. The light seasoning was great and delicious!
Udon soup was inconsistent in serving, we ordered 2. One bowl basically has barely noodle and the other one has an okay amount. Broth had definitely a strong aroma and certainly does not taste water.
Fried scallop was tender, although the fried batter flavour overwhelm the taste of the scallop itself, had a batch of order where you can taste aged oil.
Fried rice, too much oil you can even see the reflection of the light, at least it had the wok flavour which is great.
Fried tempura tasted good, made 2 order one does taste more oil than the other. You have to be picky enough to tell the difference though.
The main sushis serving were ok it's what you would expect. Nothing unique that would distinguish itself from the other restaurant.
Will definitely come back however, considering it was a great deal for...
Read moreMy husband and I are regular customers at this restaurant. I have told friends and family about this place and how great the food and service is. However yesterday was absolutely the worst. We ordered twice. The first order we waited about 20 minutes which we didnt mind because there were a lot of people. The second order we waited another 20 minutes and got only one of the maki. About 25 minutes later a worker asked us if we have ordered yet and we said yes. She went to check and said they are currently preparing it. 15 minutes later she came to us and asked us what we have ordered and went back to check. She told us sorry they did not receive the order and the kitchen is closing. Is that a joke? We went to pay and told the cashier what has happened she told us the ipad can sometimes not function properly so they don't always get all the orders. Are you kidding me? Why give us a 'broken' iPad in the first place? We told her we will not be paying full price for this since we didn't even get half of our order. She said ok I will give you a student discount of 10% without apologizing. Oh man are they good at making us laugh but bad at giving us a decent service. We go there every week and that's what we get for that. So we ended up paying 50$ for a horrible experience. We will be eating...
Read moreLocation is great as you can find parking easily. Restaurant itself is ok (clean) but getting very loud (noise level) with few people.
Service is ok, Bella the robot is the main attraction and might serve you once or twice. Bella will never replace waiters, it is definitely an attraction.
The food is ok, not more. Lunch is 20$ and choices are very limited but acceptable.
The rice is ok and very wet making it it stick all together, like paste.
Highlight - Maybe the robot because it did made me smile. Lot of family with kids to see Bella and celebrate birthdays - Yes Bella can sign happy birthday.
Salmon neck and salmon belly were good.
[ok] Maki are ok.
[Downside] Kitchen: Food was ok, often warm - cold. Shumai was not good, dry and unappetizing.
Chicken Pad Thai was not great, and seasoning off.
What was disappointing - I did eat, food was ok, but every time I was asking myself - DO I really want to eat more of this. We were exploring the menu and coming always to the same question...
Overall, Lunch, I would not recommend, maybe dinner menu...
