Jasper Pizza Place is a hidden gem nestled near Jasper Town, and it turned out to be a delightful surprise. The restaurant's exterior and interior are both beautiful, creating a welcoming atmosphere for diners. What sets this place apart is its wide selection of pizzas, including wood-burning and Pan Pizza options. We decided to try both, and they were custom-made to perfection. In addition to the pizzas, we couldn't resist ordering the jalapeno poppers, which were absolutely magical when paired with the dip.
The pizzas at Jasper Pizza Place exceeded our expectations, leaving us in awe of their incredible taste and quality. It's safe to say that they were the best pizzas we have had in a long time. The staff was also incredibly helpful and attentive, further enhancing our dining experience. One standout dish was the Cheese Pizza, which blew our minds with its amazing flavors.
What makes Jasper Pizza Place even more special is its offering of both roadside and rooftop patios. From the rooftop, we were treated to breathtaking views of the mountains draped in clouds, adding an extra touch of beauty to our meal. It truly was the perfect cherry on top.
In conclusion, Jasper Pizza Place is a true hidden treasure in Jasper. With its stunning ambiance, mouthwatering pizzas, and friendly staff, it's an absolute must-visit. Prepare to be amazed by the flavors, and don't forget to enjoy the picturesque mountain views. This place is a true gem waiting to...
Read moreOf all the Pizza-serving restaurants in Jasper, we chose the Jasper Pizza Place out of convenience. I suppose this is a lesson in patience then, as I am now aware of many better Italian-catering restaurants in Jasper which we should've sought out. Anyway, we sat on their roof terrace, which sadly had very high side walls, restricting the view of the Jasper mountains. It was a pleasant place to eat, but descending down into the restaurant section it hit me that this was just another high-volume saloon selling mid-range food. I would regard it as a Canadian Wetherspoons.
To be fair, the food was quite nice, but the pan pizza was just too 'doughy', and was layered in the most offensive volume of cheese I've consumed in a while. Apparently it was a BBQ chicken pizza, but the BBQ flavour was lost in the cheese, as were the minute pieces of likely ultra-processed chicken.
As well as the terrace, another redeeming quality of this restaurant was the waiter. He was one of the coolest guys I have met in Canada. I particularly liked his hand signals while communicating with us from afar. It did take him a while to get our drinks though. Service was somewhat slow actually. But he was efficient and cool on the whole, and scores bonus points for not taking a pretentious interest in our lives as we were paying the bill.
Sadly though his quality wasn't reflected in his employer's establishment, which was ok but really...
Read moreOur visit to this restaurant was ruined by one person: our server, Michayla. From the very start, she lacked the most basic courtesy. Instead of greeting us or showing us to a table, she bluntly said, “find any table that’s clean.” That’s hardly the kind of welcome you expect in a tourist town like Jasper.
We tried making light conversation about Jasper, being tourists ourselves, but she remained cold and dismissive. Menus were never handed to us, so we looked them up online—only to realize later the online menu was outdated. After 15–20 minutes of waiting (on a day that was far from busy), she finally took our order.
It only got worse. No cutlery, no napkins. When we needed salt, pepper, or even water, it was a circus just trying to get her attention. The lowest point? My diabetic father had to get up and fetch water himself so he could take his medicine. Michayla, instead of being apologetic, snapped at him to return to his seat—only to lazily bring the pitcher moments later. Meanwhile, she was glued to her phone.
We couldn’t shake the feeling that we were being treated differently because of our ethnicity. That stings, especially in a place that thrives on tourism.
To the chef: your food was good. To the management: service can elevate great food—or destroy it. Hiring servers who are rude, dismissive, and borderline racist will keep tourists like us from ever stepping foot here again. Jasper...
